At least the Europeans could count on Ballesteros's support in one respect. The Spaniard was as deliciously anti-American as ever and was unrestrained in ridiculing their biennial showdown with the Rest of the World that is taking place in Virginia simul-taneously to this match.

Seve, I don't know what channel you had on your t.v. but I saw a lot of passion on the channel I was watching. Don't worry Seve, no one on either side is quite to your level of immaturity!

I've got to add that his comments about players able to make great shots around the greens soley because of the equipment is laughable. He also states that he can't shape shots because of the equipment. There are plenty of different irons thatcan perform great. Granted certain clubs you just can't get as much movement with. He sounds like a bitter spoiled brat.

Maybe since his game has gone south and all his 'injuries' he IS bitter.

The game has moved on since his peak.

He was also saying that he has no regard for the current crop of European golfers.

Shame really, but he always did have a rather large propensity for sticking his foot in his mouth.....

..... Not to mention a really bad cough that used to coincide with a match-play tournament :fool:

He said, he was taken out of context, and apologized to all, hope it's true. He's having another go at golf in the Spanish Open, I hope he plays well.

I got to add that I really like Seve. He is one of my all time fav. He is just so emotional. He probably spoke from his heart without thinking. Seve is so emotional that he doesn't realize that you can compete fiercely and still shake someone's hand after the match. Seve is just all or nothing. He has the passion but unfortunately he has never matured in this area.

Just a standard "back in my day" commentary.

He isn't "impressed" by any modern players? Please, Tiger is ten times the golfer that Seve ever was. The competition is tighter now than it's ever been and the current crop of PGA golfers is the best ever. Yes the equipment is better but so is player fitness, work ethic, and swings in general (video analysis).

Seve is just a clown. It is sad that some people dont know when to stop. They continue to run their mouths until their words and actions have lost any impact.
