I'm the same way too. I have a Ping cart bag, a Ping stand bag,
all Ping clubs and lots of Ping spare clubs..........then I have 1
Odyssey putter sticking out like a sore thumb. It bugs me. I sold
all my other putters. I was thinking about a Machine putter but
then I remembered I bought an expensive Scotty and then sold
it cause the putts weren't falling like magic.

It's a cheap Odyssey putter too that I bought for $50 brand new.
I just feel comfortable with it doggone it, lol, but it bugs me. I do
have a WRX head cover on it though to hide what it is.

These days I do the old fashioned thing - cutting off the old grip with a knife. I always tense up a little when working on non-steel shaft. I'll be that idiot who slips and carves a giant notch in his driver shaft ruining it - LOL.

That's not the driver i normally use though. I couldn't find the screw driver i normally use, it's old and worn down and rounded on the edges so it's even less likely to hurt a shaft

Wedges --- as we've shared before -- I can't easily even explain it but for me (being a non-ho) there is always this curiosity in the back of my mind about the grind, or some yardage gap, or whatever. I don't go through all that with the rest of the bag. Wish I could explain it.... would probably have spent more time perfecting my short game and less toying around with clubs that have spent most of their time in the closet. .....finally getting at least a little calmed down about it - LOL.

Get this - just as I was getting myself under control - Mrs. Reason goes and puts a new Cleveland in front of me for Xmas. She had heard me comment that I liked the 48* degree so much that I wouldn't mind having the 52. That was probably a year ago that I said that. What does she do with information???? She sits on it til Santa time and throws my butt right back into being curious about wedges again! LOL. Gotta love that woman. She's the best.

Tip: Back rubs ring up the BP's bigtime, along with running out to get late night "snacks" that may suddenly come up

My father used to use a Bullseye putter from the 70's... and it looked like it. He'd still drop puts from all over the greens with that. Now he's doing it with an Arnold Palmer putter that's probably 20 years old and looks like it was hit by a snow plow. If it's the right putter, it's the right putter.

LOL PD. I know I'm gonna get another putter. I want the Machine
and I know it will inspire me to look down at it but now I also want
a set of S55 irons and.....well, you know how it goes. Decisions
Decisions Decisions. I really want a #9 style putter; seems the guys
with left eye dominance do better without putter offset and I have an
anser style putter now and should switch at least to a #9. I used to
have a Scotty Del Mar (#9 style) but the face was too hot and I was
knocking putts way past the hole. I do better with insert putters on
distance control.

Hey, you guys may be some of the very few NOT watching the
National Championship Football Game tonight! After all, it's not
for the Canadian National Championship, lol.

Full disclosure . . . Don't be fooled, I've already started investigating my next purchase. The purchase will not be finalized until the wager ends on April 1st (or after). I've got too much pride and am too invested to slip up now.

So with the PX Black shaft in it the SW comes out to around D2, According do Callaway's website the stock SW is D0 with the PXv. But I'm going to check it just for curiosities sake

Enter a wager for 8 months. The purchases are an easier sell to the Mrs. I just need to ensure that I don't go spastic when the wager ends and blow my wad in one fell swoop.

As for the National Championship game . . . I've got my laptop, a drink, and some chips at the ready. Ohio State is up by 11 and appears poised to capture the title. Will look good for the Big 10 if they do. Still a 1/2 to go and Oregon can rack up some points in short order. Should be a interesting 2nd half.
