After a couple of more rounds, I'm still not 100% convince that these will stay in the bag. The honeymoon is over. I hit some great shots but I'm not completely sold on the set yet. I have to do some more testing and it might be an issue with the shafts.

Sorry to hear that .
Is the Tour V a shaft you've had in other irons ?
What irons were your gamers before the 57s ?

I've switched my interests over to firearms. Between that, work, family, physical fitness, and school. Golf has become more of a unnecessary luxury.

The 57's are here to stay though, not too sure bout anything else, but they provide a balance in my unbalanced quest for the inevitably unknown.

Well , I guess having an interest in firearms will help when you want to go pin hunting !

My gamers has been either my Scratch TDs or Ping S55. I'm not sure if it's the shafts or heads but something gotta go. I am leaning towards restarting fresh.

I've had the Tour Vs in my MP64/4 combo. Those were the best irons I've had in the past year.

I hear ya man . Last weekend I think i woulda gotten closer to a flag with a sawn off shotgun than my Passing Point short sticks !
I had one of those rounds where I couldn't have hit water if I'd fallen out of a boat !
I know that feeling all too well. I remember playing last summer and I was -1 under on the 6th trying to finish at least even par on the front 9 (usually only walk 9 holes) and missed the green horribly on the par3 6th, and was back at 1 over just like that. Couldn't even dream of hitting it clean on the next 3 holes, by the time I was on the par3 9th I was done with this game, and of course missed the green on that one as well, and low and behold I holed out for birdie with my 60° to put me at 2 over for the 9. Completely failed at my goal to score even par, but it was the relinquishing satisfaction (oxymoron) of the hole out that has kept me intrigued.

Biggest let down might be the shafts. Maybe it's not the perfect combo I was hoping for. My swing has changed a lot the past few months. I'm taking out my set kf TP MBs with DG S400 to see if the performance issue.

Is there a Trackman or Flightscope that you can get in front of to check a few numbers off against some of your other sticks ?

As it most certainly does MJ .
I had the opportunity to play the Australian Golf Club last week as my club had a big Vardon event on .
It's a very exclusive club that's hard to get a round at so naturally I was thrilled to say the least .
You may remember back in December when Jordon Speith shot a 63 to win the Australian Open , well that was the Australian Golf Club that had been recently redesigned by The Golden Bear .
I was having a great time but battling to build a good score as it was quite humid & hot with the odd passing shower in Sydney last Saturday .
It was a stableford competition and I had been leaving shots short all day on a track I'd never played before .
I had just had a double bogey on the 17th so I was probably a little more juiced up then normal when I reached the 18th tee ( long par 5 ) . Thankfully I managed to avoid one of the largest fairway bunkers I have ever seen on the left with my drive and had another 210 yards to the front of the green and probably about 225 to the flag . I threw a fairway wood up in the air that had the slightest fade on it that carried the water that protected the green and avoided the green side bunkering to the left , landed and released slightly up the hill . I've got 20-25 foot for eagle that's breaking left to right up the hill . I hit it and she dropped . My first eagle on a par 5 in competition !
The guys and I celebrated it all through lunch in an amazing clubhouse that looks over the course .
I've had 2 eagles before on par 4s in competition but never on a par five as I don't usually have the distance to get on them in 2 and when I have I've always missed the eagle putt and made the bird .
It's one of my best golfing moments on one of Australia's most iconic golf courses on one if its signature holes .
I only had 33 points total for the day but to hell with that , it was one of my greatest finishes to a round of golf .
Needless to say , bring on next Saturday !
I'll admit that the cb 501 cavity portion is visually appealing, but the overall shape especially in the scoring irons are hideous. The cb 57's addressed that issue.

Well....my 57s arrived yesterday.

They sure are pretty.

Still 6 inches of snow on the ground.

Surprised that they are not that much bigger than my Tournament Blades.

I can see myself shooting a number with these things......the problem I have is that I can always see myself shooting a number with just about any new club.

I'll post a playing review shortly after spring break.

Beautiful irons. I had a set of Miura satin TM 300s with the Lehman grind back in the day. One of my favorite set of irons. I'm thinking I'll have to look into a set of these. Has anyone tried them with the KBS shafts? Just wonder how their launch is with them.

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

I have a set of MC-102 with recoil 800 series shafts. I hit the CB 57 on trackman last week and my numbers were solid. I am a 7 index. I am thinking of keeping the 4 iron in MC 102 and changing the heads on 5-pw. I was thinking my next set would be the 501 until I saw these. Are the CB 57 going to be too much club for my current index?

After doing a demo of both the 501's and 57's I think the 57's are a touch easier to hit and slightly more forgiving. The 57's also blow the 501's away in the looks department.

Congrats on the good round....Now kindly explain how someone in Canada can go out and play golf and those of us in Kentucky still have 6 inches of snow on the ground and are likely to be weeks away from being able to hit a shot???? Does not compute.
