Arcadia Bluffs and Boyne Course Condition

Heading there in 2 weeks. Anyone been there recently that has an update as to the course conditioning? I'm assuming they are in great shape but wanted to verify.

Also, anyone know the aeration schedule this year for Arcadia or Boyne? I'm assuming it's not till end of September or October but wanted to verify.

I played Arcadia a few weeks ago and it was in great shape.

AB on 7/22. Top shelf conditions, except for the 20+ mph winds blowing in off the lake that day. Made things.........interesting.

Can't speak to the Boyne courses (Mountain, Highlands and BH) this year. That being said, they have always been in excellent condition whenever I've played there (other than early in the season for obvious reasons).

May want to call them if aeration issues are a concern.

Arcadia Bluffs usually aerates the last weekend of sept or the first of October.

I recommend calling Boyne about their aerating schedule, but I'd say play it way on the safe side. I did a weekend trip late September/early October a few years back with buddies and we specifically called to try to plan around it. Showed up to the course and the greens were aerated literally the day before. Greens were golden from all the sand, put a huge damper on the weekend. Great courses otherwise, beautiful setting.

If one were to drive from Chicago - is the ride too long for just 2 rounds? Me and buds are thinking of going up and staying one night and playing 36. We are tossing around A Bluffs and F Dunes.

I think it would be totally worth it. I've driven from Chicago to play Arcadia, but I stayed in Grand Rapids and made the rest of the trip from there. The drive back the 2nd day might be long, but with few regrets. I've even contemplated a there and back day trip for one of those courses, but that's too much.
