LIVE From The Nike Golf Vapor Irons Launch Aug 18

First time posting, and I figured with the new clubs it would be a great time to join the community. I got my nike.com order in today and my VP seem to have come with DG and not the DG Pro. I also ordered the VPC and that set came with the DG Pro. For those that ordered stock options, did you get DG or DG Pro?

What you received is correct, the pros came stock with dg and the vapor pc came stock with the dg pro. I too ordered a blended set and had to request both sets to come with the same shafts, dg pro in my case.

Ok, just wanted to make sure since the webpage had DG Pro in the description. I thought I remembered the spec sheet saying DG (but I can't find it right now), and thought I was crazy for a second. Thanks for the quick reply!

Hi everyone, i will be on USA for a couple days this week and im gonna take the vapor irons, i would like to get 3-6 Pro combos and 7-PW vapor pro, there is a way to get this setup in the store or this custom setup is only possible via internet through nike site?

Thanks! I definitely am starting to become a ho. I have a couple of different complete bags and come March/April next year I might have another. I have a few connections that help with the pain of retail and I'm very thankful for that. I'd be in a world of hurt otherwise haha

I did not. Same length, loft, lie as my MMProto.

Same shafts and grip as well.

Only thing different is that the Pro Combo's are beyond forgiving.

Nice. I'm really looking forward to getting out there with mine. I've always loved Nike's volt on all my stuff but wasn't sold on the black PVD. I can pretty safely say I agree with your opinion, though. Black and volt is staying on my sets.

I just received my VPC combos this morning. I must say that they look twice as good in person as they did in pictures. I was getting a little worried when the 4 iron comparison pics began floating around showing the VPC and Proto, but the VPC are not big by no means. These might be the best looking set of irons I've seen or played in quite sometime. Now just have to wait until next weekend to hit them.

Tried the entire Vapor line out on opening day last week. Love at first site with the VPCs. After seeing all the reviews on here about discount dans, requested a quote and was NOT disappointed. You CAN NOT beat their prices. Ordered 6-A w/ PX 5.5. Going to add those to VRS Forged 4 & 5 irons.

Yes there is an upcharge - i think it was $8 bucks a club. Thought it was well worth it. I have Nippon shafts in JP wedges and they are the best!

EDIT: The WV wedge shafts? I have them as well, absolutely fantastic IMO. If I played more full-on wedge shots, they might give a bit too much, but I'm more of a partial wedge guy so they work swimmingly well.

Has anyone compared the PC's up against the JPX 850 Forged? Those two are at the top of my list and seem the most comparable.

Hit the VPC 6 iron with Dynamic Gold Pro S 300 vs my own 6 i (pro combo CB with Dynamic Gold XP S 300) today in the sim at Golf Town. The VPC was 1 degree stronger, but the lie angle was the same.

The VPC are a gorgeous iron. A little more meat than my own club, but i actually preferred the look.

I was hitting my club well and was much more accurate initially. The VPC was leaking right, but the guy working there bent it 1.5 degrees upright and it was a night and day difference. Just as accurate as mine, with a more solid thump at impact.

I was carrying the VPC 9 yards longer than my club, 171 yards vs 162. Ball speed (about 118 mph) and launch (20 degrees) were virtually identical, but the VPC was spinning about 5300 vs my own at 5900.

The Speed 4 iron was perhaps more impressive. It was going as far as my X Hot Pro 23 degree hybrid (190 yard carry), but the dispersion was much tighter. I was a bit tired at this point but i had a couple reach 134 mph ball speed and 225 yds total with the Speed 4 i. I'm not always above 150 with the driver, so i thought that was pretty awesome!

What do you guys think of these numbers? DG Pro may be a better shaft for me? Surprised that i was much more accurate with the VPC upright whereas my club performed very well at the standard lie angle?

Those numbers seem off. Spin is the same as a low spin driver set up.

The tape causes those low spin numbers

Yup. I also did this at a PGA Tour superstore every time I go there I feel like the iron numbers are inflated. I recently made a swing change in my irons and that is what I attribute to the higher swing speed than I normally post.
