Where to Donate Clubs?

My son just got a new set of irons (from his old man) and we now have quite a collection of used clubs. His clubs are pretty well used and we were thinking it might be nice to donate them to a worthy golf organization that is getting young people to play. I was wondering if any of you have suggestions. I have a set of irons, a bunch of wedges, a driver.....can probably put together a pretty full bag at least. If there is a local organization that would be best (SF Bay area), but if someone would pay for shipppng I'd be happy to toss clubs in a box and pay them forward to an organization in need.

I tried to donate locally, but to no avail. A fellow member recommended Jamboy72 and I chose to support his worthwhile cause. The game needs individuals who are working to grow the sport.

Whatever route you choose, kudos to you.

Is something wrong with First Tee? My son mentioned them, but I just want the clubs to go to a worthy cause to kids who will use them and learn this great game.

I can't think of an organization that is more active in helping the growth of the game for juniors and underprivileged youth

The First Tee would be a good start. You could also check with your local high schools and junior high schools to see if they need equipment for their P.E. department or if a kid on the golf team needs some clubs. Check with your local course to see if they ever have First Tee events or if you are in the city of SF, the First Tee program is run through TPC Harding Park @ [url="http://www.thefirstteesanfrancisco.org/club/scripts/public/public.asp"]http://www.thefirstteesanfrancisco.org/club/scripts/public/public.asp[/url]

Thanks, just emailed First Tee to see if there is a convenient way to donate all the clubs we have lying around.
