G30 Low spin shaft options

Right now I'm hitting a SLDR 430 10.5 with an Oban Devotion 6x.

 

Ball Speed: 180-185

Launch: 11-11.5

Spin: 2000-2200

 

Needless to say this ball goes far but I have to steer it and I'm not accurate enough with this driver.

 

I hit the G30 the other day at a demo day and the specs were- 10.5 head with the Ping 80x shaft in it. Launch was 12 and ths spin was 2700-2900. Obviously this didn't go as far but was far more accurate and way more forgiving that my SLDR. I love that about the G30. I'm wondering what shaft would get the spin down with the G30 so it goes as far as the SLDR.

 

I just have to work to hard to hit the SLDR straight and with the G30 I felt like I could swing freely and it went straight. I love that feeling with a driver because I've never felt that before.

 

***As a side note I am a teacher at GolfTEC and I just "fit" myself on SwingLabs and it says I need a G30 10.5 Graffaloy Project X 7.0 Based on the numbers with my SLDR. I haven't hit this combo because we don't have the shaft in stock.

 

Just want to hear some thoughts on this before I pull the trigger on the G30.

I just came out of a SLDR 430 with a 7M3X - very similiar numbers and experience with the SLDR. Moved to G30 9 deg (lofted down to 8) with a Ahina 80x and am replicating the launch conditions/numbers with WAY more forgiveness. I'd look at the Ahina 70 or 80.

Ust chrome. Worked for me. Switched from 430 to G30 and launch went up and spin down.

I just got a G30 with a Fujikura Motore Speeder VC 6.2 x-stiff shaft and I love it. Interesting Trackman numbers...club speed 103, Ball Speed 157, smash factor 1.53, spin rate 1450 (yes that is not a typo!). showed 266 carry with total at 303. I had another one that had similar number with spin at 2000, carry 271 with total at 297.
Went to the range today and when I hit good ones the ball looks like it came out of a gun. Great penetrating ball flight and was flying the ball into the back of the range net (about 250 yards deep). Can't wait to try it on the course!

Moving to g30 from i25 with tour ad bb 7x ordering a tip from golf works for a speeder tour spec 7.2 I have laying around . I will report back when testing is completed

I'm quite sure that 1450 spin at your BS would literally drop right out of the sky. If that spin is your average, you are likely doing yourself a serious disservice playing the setup you are. Don't put all of your eggs in the trackman basket.

I recently fitted a customer who is 120 club head speed and he went into Accra Tour Z 65 ST M5. He loves it, described it as an "honest" shaft, you get out what you put in.

I would totally agree with that. My Ball speeds at my Fitting at Titleist with the 915 D3 were just a couple of mph lower than the poster there, but only marginally, and I was launching the D3 at 16.5* and 1900rpm at the Fitter said, quite rightly ,that he could just see the last third of the ball flight to be just dropping out the sky a touch, and not quite maximizing carry, after hitting a few balls like that, I could see what the fitter was getting at, it needs a keen eye, but if you know what you're looking for, it can be seen. So at 1450rpm, that must really be just dropping out of the sky pretty badly at our ball speeds. Surely must be pretty noticeable @ 1450rpm. The land angle may tell a tale I would imagine. Spin can be your friend too!
