Blast from the past.. the Precept U-Tri Tour

So I had about 8 doz. I was trying to unload awhile back, with no luck. Back in the day it used to be my fave ball, so I stocked up when they went on clearance at wally world. I forgot I had them, and came across them yesterday, so I took some out today and they reminded me just how good they were. I played one of my better rounds of the year this morning, half with a laddie x and the back nine with the u tri.. that ball is great. I think im gonna play the remaining 7 doz I have. I hit some bombs with them today, and my putting and chipping was on point with them as well. I didnt notice any significant loss in distance with them, off driver or irons.

just thought I'd share and stir up some nostalgia for those of you who used to game them. . They really are great golf balls, even if they are 6 or 7 years old :)

One of my all-time favorites, played that and Nike Tour Accuracy DD (also made by Bridgestone and very similar ) until ran out of my old stock. Closest ball I have found in performance is original Bridgestone B330-S.

Actually, proV1 had to make changes due to litigation regarding violation of Bridgestone's patents, so statement above not exactly correct, more like undermarketed originator

It was a nickname that my friend and I gave them. I found out about them just when they were discontinued and you could get a dozen at Target for $20. I bought 6 dozen at one time. I just meant they performed just as well and were much cheaper.

One of my favorite balls I've ever used. Last played them in 2008.
Remember chipping in 3 times in one round using these balls.
Never done that before or since.
Had to be the ball, right?

had to be.
The only two I have ever chipped in during my time were with U-Tri's as well, and also hit the flagstick this weekend with it, (it bounced off and left me with a 8 footer) Maybe we're on to something!

It truly is a well behaved ball. I really enjoyed playing it again, and to a slightly lesser extent, the laddie x. I still need more time with both to gauge their exact distances, but was impressed.
For giggles I dropped my normal z-star from a spot about 88 yards from the center of the green, drilled it to within 5 feet. The zstar is so drop dead accurate. Hit that same shot with the laddie and was just off the green. Dropped a U-Tri and was about 8 feet away... great great ball.

I've still not found a ball that so perfectly fit me, especially for the price to date. I've found longer balls. I've found balls that spin more. I've not found the combo of the two yet though that so fit my swing and game as the U Tri did.

Great great ball. On my shortlist of favourite balls ever. At the time I liked them more than regular ProV1s.

Great ball along w/ the U tri tourdistance and spin models. Also really liked the Nike TA2 LNG and SPN models.

i have 4 precept u-tri tour golf balls left and i've absolutely refused to play them out of respect....all-time, hands down, no hesitation best ball i've ever played. it does everything just right with predictable results. bring it back!!

I too stocked up on these. Went to 4 different Walmarts and cleared them out when they were $11 a dozen. Played them for a season but found another ball I liked better. Now they are in the shag bag.

I've got a couple dozen still. Stopped playing them this year for the B330 RX but I'm going to start next spring with them on the tee again. Probably not as long but great feel.
