Geotech JF10 irons

I am relatively new to the JDM scene and was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the Geotech brand, specifically the JF10 model irons. I was browsing TSG and these caught my eye for a couple of reasons. The cost is appealing, but the club just looks so clean. I have been searching for a quality club with minimal/no markings for a while. I just think this club fits the bill very well.

 

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this company/model. Appreciate the help!

They look like generic open stock type heads. Small club making companies buy blanks like these and have them stamped with their own company logo or modify them somewhat before plating. Perfectly nice club heads I'd say, just don't expect much if you try to resale them. Oh, and .370" tip hosel bore. Some people snub their nose at .370 because the shafts are decreasing weight, not constant weight like so many taper tip shafts.

Geotech has been around for decades. No problems with the company.

That model is 4th most popular iron head. It's also been around for a long time and has sold well for at least 10 years.
1st most popular model is N-17 blade head and the other two below that are game improvement cast heads.

I believe that model is forged by Kyoei, but it is forged in Japan, for sure.

What would you guys say the comparable US market brand would be?

I'm also a big fan of Yururi. Any thoughts on that stuff?

Love those irons. The look of them at least. Been admiring those for years but haven't been willing to give them a shot.

I have the 5-7-9 irons of this model that I demo'd. More offset that I would prefer, especially in the lower irons. Fantastic clubs nonetheless. I agree they would be similar to Scratch in terms of feel. Most of the Scratch clubs I have played will have less offset as well. I am in love with the Yururi Raw blades. However, I don't play nearly enough to warrant a purchase like that.

If you are interested in getting the 5-7-9 from me let me know. I was going to list them on BST anyway as I went another direction with my irons.

When Fairway Golf carried them and I asked, they said they (JF10) performed a lot like AP2's. Sadly, it seems they've dumped the brand.

I've also been eyeballing them for years and figure I'll finally pony up for a set now that I've figured out how to laser etch them.

I don't think Fairway Golf dumped the brand. I believe Geotech signed a distribution agreement for North America with another company.

Ah. I was not aware of that. Did they go TSG exclusive then?

Yes, so retailers can't get better pricing by going direct anymore.

I have no idea how the deal was structured, but I can't see TSG letting a retailer sell for equal or under they're pricing. TSG sells using fluff marketing like people selling get-rich-quick schemes and diets, while Fairway is more of a traditional retailer. They don't match at all.

I just ordered a set of these heads from tourspecgolf. Can't wait to see them in person. I plan to shaft them with C Taper S+ shafts.

I love the clean look. However, I'm a little concerned with what I've read about there being significant reverse offset in these, with the short irons have heavy offset. Can anyone confirm this? Anyone have pics of from the address position?

Once I receive mine (which might take a while since they are coming from Japan) I will post some pics.

congrats. i dont have any iron sets but i do play their wedges. i have a 50* and 58* and i couldnt be any happier. for the price you really cant go wrong. the 58* is incredibly versatile and i love the grind. spin is ok but i kept this one in the bag solely because of the grind.

also the feel of these clubs is pretty darn good and i play epon af tours as my main set. i also have a 19* hybrid which is incredibly easy to hit for me. its more of a players hybrid than GI but i launch it high and straight.

keep us posted. and in all honesty, my next set of irons will definitely be Geotechs (all my money now goes to babies).

These are awesome irons. I had some demo heads a while back and played them with a few different shafts. If you like the irons, check out their woods and wedges. I have a B Stream Proto fairway wood and it is one of the nicest sounding and performing 5 woods I have ever played.
