Streamsong to get a 3rd course By Gil Hanse

Surprised this has not yet been mentioned here, but Streamsong has officially made an announcement to add another 18 holes designed by Gil hanse to the pre-exisiting 36 holes on property. The new course to be titled as the Black Course is expected to be completed in 2017, and will feature a new clubhouse and restaurant. The course will be located on the land SouthEast off the Red courses first six holes.

They have the land, that's for sure. Blue and Red are incredible. I played there last June and was very, very impressed with the whole experience. Adding Hanse to the action can only improve an already impressive product.

Blue and Red were named after the color of ink used to draw the plans by the architects. Pretty sure Hanse is using Black, thus the name. I can't wait for it.

You should defiantly go now. The new course won't be completed until mid/late 2017 at which time it's likely they will be working on the 4th course. If you can handle the heat Streamsong is quite the bargain in the summertime as well.

Streamsong in August last year remains my favourite golf trip ever, just tee off early so you get in before 12pm and watch the thunder storms roll in.

Despite 30hrs in transit from my home in Canberra to Australia, this place should be on everyones golfing bucket list and it's worth walking. Looks like my 2018 golf trip will now involve another trip to Tampa to check out the new course. Maybe via Hawaii this time, that 30hrs is brutal.

Southern Wisconsion is getting Sand Valley. It already has 36 underway, although it isn't exactly "next door" to Kansas.....

I would imagine that the Sand Hills area of Nebraska comes close, e.g. Prairie Hills.

I'm holding off. I can't get too excited about a golf-centric trip to a resort with just two courses, even if they are both tremendous (as I have no doubt Streamsong's are). The addition of a third course will definitely get me there in 2017, though.
