Miura Giken- I pulled the trigger and jumped in the JDM pool

I will start by saying that I have been a Mizuno Loyalist for over 15 years and I have always found them to be elite irons compared to other manufacturers sold in the US. The thread on this forum that highlighted Jack at the Father Son with his Miura CB57's got my juices flowing and it didn't take long for me to start researching and asking questions. Many of you offered tremendous advice and I weighed my options. I have no problem with paying a premium for premium products but I have to admit to being a guy that always gets a deal on the best of the best . :) I have to thank another member for telling me about the TourSpecGolf Holiday 25% off discount code. That pushed me over the edge so I pulled the trigger. I went with the CB-2007 4-PW with the Nippon Modus 3 120 S Shafts , GP Multi-compound grips. +1/2 . These came out as well as I could have expected at a SW of D3.5. :) There is snow on the ground here in the "Peoples Republic of Maryland" but I'm heading to Tampa February 7-14 and these are going to get some play.

How do you like the scratch wedges? I am considering trying other wedges for 2016.

Right now I have 2dot 52/56/60 Cleveland 588 RTX Rotex face in satin finish. The bounces are 10, 14, and 12 respectively.

I've played them for 3 years.

I think I did well and as things always work out I stumbled across a US dealer that gave me a fantastic price on a set of CB57s I have to sell off some sets before I consider them or at least play these new CB-2007 for a season .

Congrats, they look awesome. I jumped into the Miura pool during the 25% discount week from TSG also. I went with the MB-5005 with Modus 125s. Still waiting for them to be built though. I'm coming from Epon 302s, so my expectations are high. Either way I'm going to have an awesome back-up set of irons.

Those are really nice looking. I bought the components and had them built by my local club fitter. He charged me 130 bucks which is a good deal from my estimation.
The Miura heads shipped from Miura so they took about 3-4 weeks from the day I made the purchase but the shafts were in stock and I had them in about 5 days which is pretty amazing since they shipped from Japan.

I prefer Miura and Kyoei over Epon every time. Tough to say one is #1 over the others, just comes down to personal preference.

Congrats on the set. I went to JDM irons 4-5 years ago, and it has actually saved me a little money, as I never have much interest in new irons anymore. I have a mixed cavity/blade set of left handed Miura irons and a set of Epon 302s. I love them both, but they play very differently. When I am striking the ball well, the Miuras come out. If my swing feels a little inconsistent, the Epons come out to save the day.

I have this set of irons with Recoil 95s. Best feel at impact of any set I have owned. Pretty harsh on mis-hits, which I like and chose. Beautiful look at address. I think these are the most I ever enjoyed a set of irons. I shot my lowest score ever with these, but when the swing is off, they are not kind!

I know Epon are Endo forged. . I was just being facetious.

When I was considering a new set of JDM irons, I looked closely at Epon, Scratch, Yonex, Miura , Miura Giken, Fourteen, Kyoei, Yuri, and OnOff.

They are all good and I spent many months trying to decide.

The snow is still on the ground here in Maryland so I'm heading to Tampa next Saturday for a full week of golf I have been playing Mizuno JPX 825 Pros with KBS Tour 120 S shafts for about 16 months so I expect these should be on par and I hope they meet my expectations. I know my game is going to be rusty so I will be patient. New shafts and heads

epon makes the best forged clubs, the epon zen putter is a classic Gem and out of 5 people I know who owns that putter, none would sell it for twice what they paid. Epons irons and putters are sensational. Miura is right there as well, just was stating fact from what I have heard and experienced. Epon is coming out with two new head designs, the feedback I heard is amazing.

It was you that came into this thread and injected your opinion about Epon making the best forged clubs and rambling about the Epon Zen Putter. I think you need to stay on topic or maybe start a new thread about how great Epon is. I'm surprised by how some feel the need to inject an opinion when none was requested.
