I don't think his short game is good enough for an open..

Certainly you aren't referring to his putting.

Think the OP would mind if we posted some of our picks for the USO? I hate to hi-jack the thread, but it could be a nice place to track some bets from the forum. Unless there is another thread like this one...?

From the track,

Sure! Feel free to post them. I'll post my bets tomorrow. I think it's a very difficult one, as it is a course like no other. But I have a few ideas. The guys who says it's a terrible course won't be on my list (not the best way to prepare yourself or show that you think you can win it.)

Cool man, thanks! Who have you heard saying negative things?

Ryan Palmer and yah boy Henrik Stenson have both said negative things publically. Ian Poulter says that other players have called it a "farce" so I would sort of lump him into that category.
Yeah, those three. J.B Holmes said it was all about luck and that 50% of the guys hate it (after todays practice). Webb Simpson, said something not that positive also. Some other guys really seem to like it (Tiger, Noren, Spieth, Mickelson etc). I won't try to look at what every players has said, but could be an idea to check the ones you want to pick and give it an extra look if one of those players have said negative things.

Btw, I heard there won't be much wind this week. That will be a huge factor. Going to check the forecast before I make my picks, that's for sure.
I actually don't mind Jimmy at all this week.
He was working with Butch on the range. Don't like his chances though. He is too orthodox a player to win on this merry-go-round.
i'd rather have an orthdox player that hits it solid and has a pretty steady game than an unorthodox guy with the mental strength of a wet napkin (Bubba)
The only way this course is more difficult for Bubba is if it was in France.

I'm referring to his inside of 5 feet putting. He has had multiple tournaments this year where he has missed a bunch of short putts. Maybe I just caught him at the wrong time!

I got BillyHO at 50/1 if the wind forecast stays down I'll probably play JDay (33/1) his high ball flight may worry me a little in the wind.

Don't mind DJ or Brooks either. Donaldson at (100/1) seems decent and hell maybe a peso or two on El Pato at 200

I Really like Brooks and Donaldson too. Day has been struggling with lethargy and DJ wd last week with illness scares me away from those two.

Okey, so here is how I have been thinking this week. I'll put a big bet on P.Mickelson, he sounds confident and his creative way of playing could be the medicine for this course. He also showed some promising form last week, and he has the experience. I also think an early starting time thursday (Mickelson 07.33) should be an advantage as it show some wind tomorrow afternoon, but not in the morning and not on friday afternoon.

My other bets are on creative players and who are also in good form. A Noren (can control the ball both ways, and really good if it's windy). Charley Hoffman, T2 in his last start and has been up there in the big tournaments this year. Byeong Hun An, he was crazy good at the BMW in difficult conditions.

It's also likely that I'll put a live bet during the first round as I get some information on how some of the players handle the course. I'll save $50-$100 for that.

US OPEN
Phil Mickelson (17x) $200
Byeong-Hun An (81x) $50
C. Hoffman (101x) $50
Alex Noren (126x) $50

Shame Monty missed the cut after such a great first round ... Just eight shots separating the remaining 60 players, but hard to look beyond Spieth now. Best putter wins ?

Mickelson probably in need of a third round 67 or better to get in the mix.

That's odd ... When I went to bed all the sites and reports had the cut at +4 ? My bet is back on lol.

Last weeks US Open was a real difficult one. The best player in the world for the year won it, but it didn't feel like a course he'd win on. (now I know better :)). This week I found the best bets on the euro tour so I'm going with that.

BMW international open
R. Cabrera Bello (21x) $120
Tongchai Jaidee (46x) $110
Maximilian Kieffer (29x) $70

Funds: $3180

Bello just can't get 4 good rounds. He's in the top for every tournament but fail in one of the rounds. Kieffer is looking good. Kind of hope he won't win it as I've bet on him lately and was about to this week also ?. I have pretty good ideas for the next two weeks and will probably bet a bit more than my bankroll allow so that I've got some kind of chance to turn this around a bit. For this week Jaidee and Bello probably sit too far back even with good final rounds.

I'll go with the PGA-tour this week. John Deere Classic is a ballstrikers course. And I have three good picks for that.

John Deere Classic
Kevin Kisner (17x) $100
Steve Stricker (31x) $100
Boo Weekley (67x) $100

Funds: $2580
17/1 on a player that has never won before is a joke. I know he has been solid and close and is due but come on how much have you lost on the Kis this year?
I love Kis and I think he's due eventually but I agree 17x is steep for me.

Any of you guys follow @WesReynolds1 on twitter? He's hit a couple guys this year, plays a fair amount of guys each week though. He's on English, Thomas and Finau all at 40x, I can only find them in the low 30x.

I think Kisner at 17 is fair. 20/1 would be nice but he has knocked on the door how many tournaments this year? 4? At least with him the odds are he is going to put himself into a position to have a chance.

I think Thomas will take a few tournaments to recover from that collapse

Spieth will probably win
