Do you find spiked shoes to be prohibitively uncomfortable, bangass?

 

Nah but since I walk 90% of the time, I like lighter shoes than the AMP Cells I have. They were fantastic for 3 years as far as keeping me dry but have recently been "leaking". I've walked 36 on multiple occasions in spikes but if everyone said "spikeless traction is just as good" then I'd strongly consider changing if I got the same level of waterproofness. I need new shoes and I don't feel like buying two pairs to A/B test.

 

This is all separate from my future purchase of spikeless boat shoes.

 

Adidas makes outstanding spineless shoes DC pointed too..

 

Waterproof and I never had any problems in my due sweeping rounds I used to play.

 

Any ounce of your feet getting wet and adidas will replace them due to the waterproof warranty.

Yeah the Gripmores are great, you can get them on Amazon right now for @ $60. I've walked 36 in them with no issues at all.

 

Traction is not an issue at all with them, those mini-cleats or whatever you want to call them work great, far better than the NUBS shoes I've tried.

 

BTW I think I was with Fabb at NW the day he wore those shoes. He slipped @ 15 times in the first 4 holes and then was terrified over every shot for the rest of the round. Pretty sure that might have been the last round with those.

Adidas had one like that I wanted to get when I was hoping to go to Bandon this Fall - similar look. I bet they work though.

The number of slips is exaggerated for effect, but this is basically 100% true otherwise.

 

When I actually went to the range, I didn't wear golf shoes, and I never slipped. Every single time I've slipped on the course was exactly the same though. Sometime during/just after transition, my right foot slips straight back like I'm doing a moonwalk, leaving me to throw my arms and clubhead out to avoid missing the ball. Dead pull every single time.

While I'm dictating what I think city should wear, I'd really like to see him join team tour visor. He's got a very Tommy Armour III quality about him that would lend perfectly to pulling off the tour visor look.

Yeah. You can find some that are mid height -ish and not full blown.

 

I keep forgetting I have my TM one that hasn't been worn in a while. The crown on that thing is higher than most ball caps.

I've really liked my Nike Bermuda Fi's so far this year. They are light, comfortable, and great for walking. Plus, they were a birthday present so I didn't have to pay anything for them!

 

Always liked the look of those, but had doubts about the crazy nubs they use. No grip issues at all?

 

 

I can only think of one time that my back foot slipped out on the downswing. Other than that I haven't had any issues with the grip at all.

I was curious about this movie when Sally Field was making out with Max Greenfield in the trailer... Just not curious enough to watch it.

 

Max Greenfield is great as Schmidt in New Girl by the way. Schmidt is always good for a few laughs every episode.

Not long after informing the wife I am not playing, I received confirmation that we are going to Rehoboth from Aug 6-13. Eastern Shore friends, I have never played on the Eastern Shore outside of Queenstown. Is Lighthouse worth the hour drive, or should I stick to DE?

 

Also working it out to where I can play 36 if possible. I think it will work while my MIL and wife go shopping.

Lighthouse is OK. I like Bayside better, and it's a shorter drive for you.

If you want a leisurely 5 hour round with $5 beers: Baywood

If you want to be unimpressed, but play a decent course that will have good golf elements to it and not kill yourself: Rookery North, play the tips.
