Inspired by the blowout sale on Nike shoes...

Golf Talk Wednesday : What is your favorite golf shoe of the last 2-3 years?

The Adidas Gripmore. Its the only spikeless shoe I've never had traction issues with and is the most comfortable walking shoe I've ever tried. Bought two pairs when they came out and almost have worn through the black ones - the back of the ankle part is wearing a hole in it. Bought a 2nd pair on ebay, probably will buy a backup pair to the white ones as well.

I am loving my Nike Air Zoom 90 ITs. They are super comfy with tons of grip. I could never use the Adidas adicross because they would slip. Edit, the gripmores worked but I didn't get them because they don't come in wide.

Golf Talk Thursday : What part of your game most needs immediate attention to improve your scores?

My ability to make short putts (under 4 feet) is terrible. My lag putting has been pretty good and gets me within 3-4 feet but I've missed several short putts from that distance. I've been driving the ball much better (hitting 2/3 hybrid and driver off the tee really well) so I've been left with mid/short irons and wedges in on most holes so my GIRs have gone up too. But, my 78 round the other day did have one lost tee shot to the right which hurt. But if I had to chose between putting and driving, it'd be my putting from within 5 feet. Something about the alignment is always just a smidge off. I think the finish on the Bettinardi in full sunlight causes a lot of glade and makes it hard to line up putts.

Also, me being a fatass isn't helping. My back 9 performance usually shows fatigue setting in - especially in this heat.

Flash sale today at Dick's on the Foot Joys and LC3's.

Yikes! Is that what some people pay for golf shoes "on sale"?

Kidding of course, but makes me want to stock up on my $25 Nikes as much as I can.

Abby wambach got a DUI this year.

I hate the phrase sexual assault. Raping a women (what Kobe was accused of) vs. placing your nuts for a few seconds (what Peyton was accused of) are not the same offense. They are different enough that having one phrase to cover both is not great.

Fine, tea bagging and raping are two different sports, but they are still played in the stadium. But as City stated earlier, assigning the term "icon" to two sports figures who are dubious at best for being an icon, is difficult to swallow in this "PC" culture ESPN promotes.

Has Kobe or Peyton made their respective sports more enjoyable to watch, or have they brought more fans to their sport? For me, the answer is no. Abby, I don't know. I get the impression that she is as important to her sport as Mia Hamm was/is.

There is a great thread going on in Deal or No Deal. Great read during chipotle part 1 for lunch or chipotle part 2 at 3:30pm.

Hey guys, I'm just a lurker but just wanted to ask if you guys could help me. I'm hoping to play in the US Mid Am qualifier at Hobbit's Glen in MD. Is there anyone who has access to this course or know of a way to play it? I would really appreciate it if you could help and will compensate you for your time if I could tag along as guest. Thank you!

A couple of us on here are members there. One or more of us could probably get out with you sometime, but I'm also sure that they'll let you out for a practice round unaccompanied if you're playing a qualifier there. It's not super private or anything. More so just restricted access.

Thanks a lot guys. I actually contacted both Golfnow/Hobbit's Glen where I was informed that it wasn't available to the public, and qualifier participants are only allowed one day before the round.

I messaged City about next Thursday, it would be great to meet you guys!

You will definitely know everything you need to know about every shot out there after playing with that SDGolfing lover

I solved the mystery, guys. Golfer827 stole that sh1t before he even put the package on the doorstep. He's crushing the new Hzrdus in his driver.

Only if it is a blade driver.

Bring a couple notebooks, Outlier. I can give you the name of a good court stenographer.

I think I'm going to keep it simple. Like what not to do on 2, and 10. And that's it.

Well, I might mention that on 4, you really got to take that second trap out of play.

And, on 5, left is death, but short is all right.

More room to the left on 6 than you think.

Then there's 7 -- you can definitely drive it OB. 8 is right in front of you, but it's about 3/4 of a club short. But, 9 is right in front of you, except everything kind of runs right, and you really want to get at that pin from the left side.

Now 10. . .10 you gotta be careful on.

I have TONS of notes, and they'll all be totally different than City's. What bunker on 4? That bunker is a fly-over state, bro. It's the Indiana of bunkers.

The best way to read threads in DOND when two dudes are going at it is to block everyone but the two dudes.

nah. then i'd miss out on someone taking the time to calculate the potential shipping charges, take a screenshot, and post it as evidence that someone is a scammer.

i mean, that S is HILARIOUS! :taunt:

golf-related: after today's scoring binge, i can't wait for tomorrow's carnage at the open.

It sounds like

1) item wasn't as described

2) Dude sent it back and the cap came off the tube.

3) Huge, embarrassing slap fight.

so stupid.

Driving consistency, which I know will lead to more GIR. Putting too much pressure on the short game these days. Lag putting would be the next aspect after that.
