Not on this board, but another one I'm on a guy in the UK played in a tournament that he didn't know the sponsor of... He looks it up after signing up and it's an online sex toy shop. I'm still waiting to hear from him what the prizes were.

Scrambles are the best. I've won a ham, a chair, a nitrogen fill up for tires, a level, wine, whiskey, free cafeteria buffet.... I'm sure there's some gems that I can't remember.

Played with a friend of a friend one day. Trash talking on the range led to a few bets which quickly escalated. At the end of the round he owed $250 and didn't have it. He did have a nice Schon pool cue that I love playing with to this day. As a bonus it's worth about $800. I told home he could buy it back for the $250 but he never did. His loss.

I hit a closest to the pin on a scramble and won a ping putter........that I donated. I just re-raffled it and left empty handed :(

I never understood when someone can win a driver for longest drive......why the hell does he need a driver if he just beat the field with his!?!

Played in a charity event years ago. Some guy cleaned out a supply room and I won a padlock, 2 legal pads and some pens from the raffle. The next ticket drawn won a new set of irons 3-pw.

Closest to the pin at our Annual local University Ashland Eagles 4 man scramble event, "The Eagler". 1st hole I played that day #11. If you are in the wrong position, you have no chance at the green. I wasn't even that close. 15'-18' maybe. Never thought it would hold up all day. But afterwards at the meal, they called my name. 7 am the next day, truck shows up with this bad boy....

 

 

 

Too bad where I lived at the time we had a yard I could push mow in about 15 minutes and had no where to put it so ended up giving it away.

This is by far my favorite thread ive ever read! Last year I played in a scramble which my team came in last. We were given one of those kids sets with 2 plastic balls, plastic rolling bag thing, and 2 giant plastic clubs!

In a church scramble, I won a bag of tees for "longest drive". I was thankful to win anything (I had an old Dunlop centrus driver that came with my clubs--one of those $140 package deals). It was 2000 (my third summer playing) and the tees had to have been at least 6 or 7 years old. The package was well worn and some of the tees inside were broken. I think my youth pastor found them in the bottom of his golf bag and decided to make those a prize. in the same scramble, my brother won a sleeve of Top Flite golf balls (with an early 80's logo on them) for "closest to the pin". We were raised to appreciate everything you worked for (or that was gifted to you. We did appreciate the prizes,but got a good chuckle as well. :)
