Anyone Play Ping White Dot Irons?

I was fitted for green dot +1/2" 3 years ago when I bought my G15 irons. I seem to hit more of a hook now than a draw. I used Ping's fitting chart and it says that I should be playing white dot +1/2".

I'm considering buying some new irons and I'm wondering what to do. I don't have a fitter close to me except for local golf shops with the Ping fitting systems. Same as when I was fitted 3 years ago.

Take a road trip to Ping in AZ and get fitted there. I'd do it if I was closer.

White dot is more upright. You could always go to the shops and hit other colors to see what fits you better.

Have you checked out your swing lately? You could be causing the hooks more than the lie. However, after 3 years, your swing may have change and improved. So, a new fitting could help. Good luck!

I bought new clubs when I retired 3 years ago. Now my hdcp has dropped but I'm older. My swing has probably changed since I bought the G15's.

That's probably good advise to try some different colors.

I actually just got fitted for some I irons, coming from the i20s. i20s fitted in 2012 are +3/4" and white dot. New specs are +1/4" green dot. Both have PX shafts. Pretty sure the effective lie is the same (shortening the club) however I also dropped from D3 to D1 swing weight. Great advice to go and get re-fit.

Once I finally took the splurge and got fitted at a local demo days I discovered that I was a maroon/silver dot even though I had been playing for some time. I guess that finally explained my issues with the right side of the course! The static fitting puts me in the blue/yellow range.

I had my irons bent to maroon/silver but now I was constantly flirting with the lefts so I've settled on white dot up 9i and green for my wedge.

Interesting enough I still play black dot on my gap, sand and lob wedges without any issues.

Invest the time to get properly fitted and hit some balls outside to find out what works best for your swing now.
