I'm a mid-morning kind of guy. That way, I have enough time to warm up on the range for a good while, and also play a second around if I wanted all without having to rush to get to the course, or waking up while it's still dark.

I like playing early before leagues start, before 8-8:30am or twilight. Problem with twilight is that you might not have time to finish but you also end up playing with better golfers that like to keep pace, compared to older more seasoned players who line up puts for days and take their jolly old time on the greens.

The only thing worse than waiting on every shot is when the group behind is pushing and hitting into you.

 

For those of you that play in under 3:30...do you stripe every shot down the fairway and on the green or are you picking up or just slapping at every 3 or 4 foot putt. Where's the fire? Most of us play golf to relax.

 

I've caddied for 3 hour loops...they don't care what the score is. They are just out for a speed walk. 3:30 loops could be serious money games but it's always 2 man best ball with conceded putts and ball in pocket. That's not 18 holes of real golf where every shot counts.

 

Typical ignorant pushy people blame the group ahead of them when there is slow play well ahead. Or a single or twosome think they own the course mid-day. Same type of people that will speed ahead in traffic only to reach the next red light ahead. You can have your morning dew and sun glare all to yourself.

10:00 AM. This allows me to enjoy my coffee then do some stretching, hit the range and the putting green and not feel rushed. Having that rushed feeling to get to the tee always leads to a slice off the first tee.
