Need a solid, cheap rangefinder

Never bought a scope before and looking for some recommendations. I'm not looking to drop $300+ on the latest model, and have no problem buying something used and outdated so long as it works. A store nearby is selling Bushnell Pinseeker 1500s for $100 that I'm strongly considering.

 

And let me know if you've got an old rangefinder you're willing to sell.

I think you might be a little better off looking for a used Bushnell V3 or something like that. Can be had for just a little bit more than the $100 you are eyeing. Of course buying new will raise the price but you know, hopefully you find something.

The Nikon Cool shot 40 is $200. Switched from the Bushnell 1500 to the Nikon and the Nikon is a much better product. Better at acquiring the flag and weeding out background noise.

I would feel super comfortable with literally any major brand rangefinder. They all do the basics very very well. Places to look out for is Amazon (open box/warehouse deals especially) and the 20-30% Sports Authority codes that are all over the place these days.

 

Again all major brands are very accurate so if you see one of these for a price you like, it will do the job.

I ended up buying a bushnell sport 550. It is not specific for golf though. But i felt like spending 100 bucks new was way better than something that jolts when i hit the flag while paying over 250 for one that does. Haven't had a problem yet in 2 years with it.

1500 for 100 is a deal if new, but there is the E5 or whatever error to worry about...I never had that problem tho...someone posted a V3 for 200 deal on amazon yesterday or earlier today
