SCGA Team Play starts this Saturday.

Can't wait. This is the highlight of my golf year. I'm 1A in the first match, little nervous but more excited than anything.

Anyone else play? I know Obee does.

Looking forward to it, but if this weather keeps up this way, we're going to be playing in rain gear just about every week!

I was looking forward to it but here in San Diego our club is not playing this year. From what I heard, almost half of the San Diego area has dropped out. Bummed

Unfortunately, not yet, they seem pretty hush hush about it. I will see the past team captain this Saturday. Hopefully I can find out more then.

I'm a sub for the Rio Hondo crew, since they play on the weekday league. One day we'll get enough guys for the Saturday team play.

Our club played a practice round for SCGA play up in Spring Valley Lake in Victorville last Saturday. Thoroughly unpleasant.

Yes I know Bob and know of Tom but have never met him. Bob typically plays Wednesdays which I can't do. But I'll tell you a Bob story. I've played w/him twice. The first time was about a year ago and we were playing the Legends course. Weather that day was pretty miserable, cold and windy. On #2 (par 5) Bob sprayed his driver OB right. Reloaded and ended up with about 145 left for par. Holed it. Next time I played w/him was probably about 3-4 months ago and we are playing Legends again. #4 is a short par3 of about 88 yds that everybody has a story of how they made 6 or worse there. It was a little windy that day as well and on that hole the wind blows downwind. So for a lot of guys trying to finesse a wedge that distance can be a problem. What does Bob do? Ace. So I've played w/him twice now and have seen that. So he's definitely a good player and pretty nice guy to boot. I need to start charging him to play w/me though. ;)
