I play all year unlike other people don't play in cold weather and I want t know if you stop playing when it starts getting into winter?

yes..but I dont enjoy 40's and wind.

i live in upstate new york....golf season is from march-october................in march and early april its cold still and around october it gets cold.....i still play in it....

i live in wales where its always cold!!

I play all year round and upto now all this year has being rain and wind!!!

Plus i play in high winds all year round my course border is around 3 metres from the irish sea!!

I live in Missouri where the weather varies quite a bit...In the summer it can reach the high nineties and in the winter it can get down to negative figures...and for the most part it is pretty windy. I play during the summer with my friends and in the winter with my dad because all of my friends dont like to... i have to have someone to play with.

I play until there is snow on the ground and is soon as it is melted melting I'm back out hitting golf balls, So yeah it can be in the high 30s and low 40s with wind and I will still be playing..damn snow.

Alway colder when you play in Quebec's area before 8h00 AM and after september. But I enjoy it a lot :tongue: :cheesy:

Since you play in Canada how are the courses there because I thought they would be terrible because the ground is different and the weather is very harsh.

Yep, we have had practice while there were snow flurries and we didn't stop. Playing in Western Mass you've just got to do it, or you won't have much of a spring season. It's horrible tho being from florida. I went to 130gram graphite to deal with the shock.

Absolutely, otherwise I'd have only 5 or 6 months of golf in Michigan. I bought a cart cover and heater before it got cold last year, and I played into December. IIRC, Sept was really cold last year, and my buddy and I would go out and play in near deserted courses, where it's 35 degrees and windy. Don't even need to layer up that much.

I shudder when i think about high school golf season in Missouri. God that first month was brutal.

There is usually snow here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan from November to mid April so anytime in between the course is my second home.

Well it depends how many $$$ are invested in/on the course. Honestly, I can't compare them to US courses (never been there :tongue:). But there are a lot of differences between courses in the same area! Not the same fees either :tongue:

 

We play between April &... November. Again, it depends of the area. In Quebec's area (where I live), the season could be shorter (and I live in mountains - Stoneham - so season IS shorter here :tongue:). In Montreal's area, a little bit longer. Courses are closed when the cold/snow is coming, or else the ground/grass will be damage. But still, it's fun to play when it's a little bit "frisky": great fresh air, plenty colors (autumn), less people on course (so more...mulligan : :cheesy: ).

It Definitely depends on the course up here in BC, and we dont get that much snow either, so unless it snows, im able to play pretty much 11 months of the year, seeing as the course i play on is private and is in amazing shape, though for 2 or 3 of those months its bloody cold!

i live in NY just south of the canadian border so if i want to play golf the weather isnt always beautiful

I live in northern europe and our season usually starts late march, early april and ends in late october or early november.

 

I stop playing when it gets too darn cold and the snow is about to pop out of the sky :drinks:

 

But I play golf the entire year. From november to march I play in indoor golf simulators and practise a lot on the range.

Golf simulators might not be golf, but its pretty close to the real thing.
