Who else really dislikes SuperStroke grips?

For me, where do I start?

 

They are slick with any moisture.

 

They look like they are designed by a high school spirit squad, and they look cheap

 

They take the click that gives me feedback in my hands once the ball is struck

 

If they could come out with a solid color without all the pinstripes and angles and markings

 

It reminds of me of high school when my trans am had raised white letter tires on it.

 

Simple is better. We wrx golfers hate the noisy cavities of some irons, or the nonsense black faces or colors of our drivers

 

But give me technicolor vomit of a superstroke and that is awesome?

I have tried them twice. Once with a blade and recently with a mallet. Just can't putt with them. I'm not a wristy putter but that oversized grip just does something bad for feel for me.

 

Anyone else find that they harm your stroke?

 

This guy. I have tried (and rejected) SuperStroke grips on five different occasions. Not sure why I didn't learn my lesson after the first one or two, but I didn't. Every few months I'd try again, but the result was always the same. They clearly work for a lot of people, but my stroke goes to �� within a round or two after I install one of them.

 

Mine too and I don't know why. Grip feels good. Grip inspires confidence. Stroke goes to crap. Befuddles me. I thought the new tour pistol would be the bees knees. Nope.

 

I know why for me. Because of the zero taper, it feels like the grip is smaller in my left hand because I'm used to a standard grip that tapers. It throws all my feel off. I was intrigued by the tour pistol, as well, but this thread is reinforcing that I'm probably not going to like it. LOL

 

I also have just a hint of hit in my stroke that's from the wrists. The super stroke messes that up.

 

And...I just installed a Pistol GTR Tour, five days after this conversation. This one actually feels pretty good. Putting has been less than stellar lately and I'm switching to a different putter for a while. Decided to really shake things up.

 

But this is the last time I try them... :D

I used one for two rounds before trashing it. Have no feel whatsoever and just not for me. Golf pride tour snsr is phenomenal!

Not sure how people even putt with the SS grips, love my Odyssey leather grip :) other thing I hate is the look, gigantic grip like that on a beautiful putter is blasphemous

I'm not a fan of SuperStroke or Winn grips. The texture feels false to me or, rather, I don't feel connected to the putter because the grip doesn't have the feel of rubber. The perfect grip to me is PING's PP58 Midsize as it's the correct size and profile for my hands...
