With the slick balls (insert joke here) this definitely favors the Astros. The Dodgers are more reliant on pitching, especially with the bats running a bit cold with the top of the order against a suspect bullpen. Astros can just play bash brothers baseball and probably take this.

Dan Patrick was interviewing Tom Verducci and they just compared last night's game to a Hollywood blockbuster action movie: So much happening and so many huge moments. Smoltzie said "Two great teams battling to the absolute end". I'm looking forward to Games 6 and 7 (yeah I said 7)!

At this point I’m not sure there are enough arms left in the Dodger rotation and pen to handle the top of that Houston lineup.

and Houston's pen isn't that much far off either. no confidence in them at all. unless Verlander can go 9 innings tomorrow and/or they have a 10 run lead - that would be the only way they come in.

Very true there.

Have you heard the rumors of the ball being different? Slick and different seams? Dodger pen goes 29 innings without giving up a run and now they can’t get anyone out. It does make a person wonder.

And it’s a probably a good thing the home plate ump had such a big zone last night (until the bottom of the 10th, maybe he was hungry and wanted to gone home), it might have been 23-22 instead if he had squeezed the pitchers at all.

yeah it's weird but not sure if everyone is making a big deal about the balls because it's trending? i mean they rub them up with some mud/dirt prior. they've been saying their "juiced" all season and even last season too. i think the conditions are perfect for more HR (very hot in LA and inside a hitters park in HOU).

that strike zone was all over the place. everything on the edge was a strike even high pitches. very bad calling behind the plate.

I agree, very inconsistent. There were balls called that were strikes the pitch before and vice versa. Horrible umpire.

The game itself was fun to watch. My wife who is not a baseball fan watched it with me and she had to stay up to see the end.

Take this for what it's worth but Tony Watson (pitches in the Dodgers pen) went to my HS and he has said the seems on the ball are flatter this year. He also had to miss a couple gsmes earlier this year when he played for the Pirates from a blister. The ball does seem to be different based on the number of home runs but people are swinging differently too.

Game 7, Baby! Yahoo, my fav sporting event, Game 7 of the World Series! Great exhausting wild series. I don’t know how the Dodgers are winning with all their studs (JT, Kershaw, Jansen, Puig, Bellinger, Seager) all having sub-par or poor Series. Mainly Hill and Wood stepped up big time in the 2 most critical games and were awesome.

Tonight first game 7 ever in Dodger Stadium. Tommy Lasorda will be cussing up a storm Vin Scully smiling and every TV in LA locked in.

Get the pop corn ready. It’s gonna be fun. Go Dodgers!

PS: the Astros are also a totally fun team to watch! Their little second baseman Altuve is a total gamer and the whole team is great.

My hope: extra innings. Dodgers walkoff homer bottom of the 10th by JT.

What a great series! I got away from serious baseball after moving to the Northwest years ago. Brings back lots of memories of my childhood. I attended a double header in the Coliseum before they moved to Chavez Ravine. I used to listen to the games on a transistor radio and hang on every word from Vin and Jerry. I once got a paper airplane all the way onto the field from up in the cheap nose bleed seats behind home plate.

It was good to see Sandy Koufax and Vin Scully enjoying last nights game. Who ever wins, it has been a great well matched series!

If it weren’t the Dodgers they were playing I would be on the Astros bandwagon big time. How much fun are they to watch. And how can you not like Altuve, the guy just plays his heart out.

Can't believe game 7 was one of the most boring games of all time. Congrats to the Astros, happy for Verlander....

Geez that was tough to watch though

it's good pitching. you have to appreciate it.

And the way the Dodgers were swimging, it didn’t even have to be really good pitching. Isn’t it crazy that the Astro’s best pitcher(Verlander) is the one they got to twice. Because he’s a fastball guy.
