Gonna revive this thread as I have a few questions for the rain gear experts. This thread has been very informative as I’ve started to do research before heading on a couple trips over the next year.

 

1) Which recommended brands offer rain pants with shorter inseams in the larger sizes? I wear XL for most outerwear (can wear L in FJ with limited layers) - 5’9” 235 lbs. with a 39/40 waist but all the rain pants in XL measure 33” inseam when I normally wear 30” inseam. Proquip, GG, and Kjus appear to be the only brands that offer a shorter inseam - are there any others to check out?

 

2) I prefer pullovers vs jackets - which waterproof pullovers are recommended?  GG Aden? FJ Hydroknit? Kjus Dexter 2.5L? Others?

 

3) Waterproof hats - sounds like a bucket hat is recommended. GG, Titleist StaDry, and Proquip are ones I’ve come across. Are there any others to consider?

anyone have any experience with the Sun Mountain Stratus jacket? looking for a rain jacket with a hood that could double as casual wear off the course and this one caught my eye. Any other suggestions are welcome.

 

 

Also why don't any rain jackets for golf come with a hood so that they could be worn off the course as well????ugh
