My first boss after I graduated college went to "Penn State." About a year later, I learned he actually went to Penn State - Wilkes-Barre. That was when I learned there were approximately 582 Penn State campuses in PA.

 

 

Fast forward about 5 years and I meet my future wife. Guess what? She went to Penn State! The above experience lead me to ask which campus. I found out that she went to Penn State - Erie (Behrend is the real name I think). Both of her sisters went there too. Her dad did graduate from main campus though.

FAbb, have you thought about getting a Flightscope MEVO for the garage? It costs the same as the new Callaway Flash Oregon Edition you are going to buy.

 

I've thought about getting one, and seems like a better investment of money than a new driver. Not as good as an investment as lessons for me, but maybe I can get some sucker family member to contribute toward a MEVO for Christmas since it's a more tangible thing than getting cash for golf lessons.

 

I would love to have club data (face/path) but there's no universe in which I lay out multiple thousands of dollars on anything that's not a house or car. The MEVO seems like an attainable price point that is still mostly accurate for what it does.

I bought one on the BST right before I popped a hernia. I ended up just selling it after finally using it a few times, for what I paid for it. A 6 month rental for shipping cost lol.

 

For me, it just didn't have any real value. No club data, no start direction data, and no sidespin data.

The last three years I’ve exited the winter playing really really bad. The garage launch monitor is a useful tool used properly but I really messed myself up with it. I moved this fall and decided not to hit balls in my garage in this house. i doubt most people would go insane the way I did but be aware it’s a possibility. I’m looking forward to a little less obsession over the winter.

2MT I think the key phrase there is "used properly". No doubt the years I start off playing really well in the Spring I've been able to do some kind of work in the winter. Not hitting balls every day but at least once a week.

I went there. Two years at a satellite campus, two at the main campus. But I only say "I went to Penn State," without clarifying the exact breakdown of years per campus. Suckers.

I went to Penn State Altoona for the first two years. Though I don't really have any Penn State gear. I probably have the least amount of school spirit of any PSU student ever. I went to maybe two football games over four years.

i have this whole unarticulated (i made that word up but it makes sense) opinion about how we completely misunderstand golf because we don't think of it just as a sport. literally nothing matters but what the ball does. And our eyes are really remarkable at making balls do things. like in baseball we see ball hit ball. in basketball you look at the bottom of the back of the rim and draino. but in golf instead we think about our right elbow internal rotation. So now my practice involves actually seeing the ball and reacting to it
