Why is this thread still active?? Good grief. It’s just not that impressive.

 

He didn’t hit it 232 in the air. Not even close.

 

It was a bit down hill with a slight breeze at his back, it was very warm, and he landed it well short of the green and bounced it on.

With all the aforementioned factors already given, I don’t think it’s that insane. I’d say he probably carries it 210-215 on average and that’s “only” 5-10 yards longer than a lot of the better golfers I play with, and dare I say myself on a great shot.

 

I pay little mind to the numbers I hear on broadcasts though. When you start to do the math and hear they hit a 350 yard drive with 115 club head speed, you know it doesn’t add up.. but it sure gets Bob next door all fired up to talk about around the water cooler tomorrow.

 

All that being said, they’re (pros) incredibly good, and can hit the ball very far via perfect mechanics, club face manipulation, and in Adams Scott’s case, his good looks play a part as well I’ve heard.
