Just arrived Srixon z785 irons (pics)

Has anyone put the 785 gap wedge in play? Looks more like a regular wedge, so wondering if there was a point to getting this one vs another RTX4/SM7/etc.

i played the 745's for a season -- i like these more to be quite honest.

standard L& L then, I had mine bent two degrees weak and +1/4" . Made an improvement to the ball fight with a slight draw at standard address.

The 785's look awesome but I'm on a golf budget so I picked up a set of 765's on the BST. I'm really looking forward to hitting them. They kind of remind me of a set of Bridgestone J33 combo irons I used to play (still have them) with their sole. I'm hoping they perform just as well!

I'll hold on to my 745s for a couple more years till these can be found for a good price on the BST then ill probably jump the 765s and snag a set of these.

745/765/785 are all essentially the same iron with varying bounce angles on the sole and slightly more weight in the toe. All feel like butter with the 1020 carbon

Anyone put these two irons through a head to head? I'm playing the AP2s currently. Love the performance and feel, but they just seem a tad sluggish through the turf. I'd love an iron in this class that plays with a narrower sole, and am curious if these 785s might fit the bill.

I played the 765 for half a season and thought the long irons were some of the best I've every hit. However, the enormous size of the 8-P was a turn-off for me and the fact I had difficulty hitting a cut were reasons why I eventually abandoned them.

 

I stumbled on a set of the 785 recently for a steal so I picked them up based on several opinions that the short irons were smaller than the previous generation. They are smaller, but they are still a little large for my liking. I've played a few rounds with them and the long irons are still awesome and the entire set has a nice soft, buttery feel; probably better than most others I've hit in the feel department. I'll play them a few more rounds once we have grass growing on the course to see how they really perform.
