I have never before seen injuries listed as part of underachieving. Perhaps the injuries were a major cause of the lackluster-at times-play?

Agree about Michelle, but not Rickie.

Michelle's talent and skill-set at an early age made her a stand-out prodigy. Her power/length was a major differentiator that should have been a huge advantage. She's a great example that it takes much more than pure talent to become a great and dominant champion.

Rickie, on the other hand, is doing just fine. He had a great junior and collegiate career, but was never the extreme type of early stand-out prodigy relative to his peers that Michelle was. The men's Tour is much deeper yet he's still had great success with 9 wins and a Players. His record in majors is darn good and he's been inside the top 10 or 20 in OWR for a long time and is a huge earner on and off the course.

Rickie is a marketer's dream for many reasons, and he gets the pay and exposure accordingly. That will continue as long as he keeps showing up near the top of leaderboards and remains relevant.
