If you're at the top of the rankings and you aren't getting Top 5's, you are losing ground to other top players. Although this is more the result of so much competition, if you stand still a couple weeks so many others are passing you by.

There really needs to be more reward on finishing Top - 10 than the current system as well as setting a higher number of events played to be used as the common divisor.

Well if you have a floor, why can't you have a ceiling

In men's golf, ceiling is 60 tournaments over two years with a floor of 40; but no one approaches 60.

Women's golf doesn't seem to have a ceiling.

Yeah 60 seems like a good number for the PGA, I think they have over 40 events per year. If I were in charge I'd have a ceiling of 55, which wouldn't change things much for anyone really. If could make change to the ranking system this would be a couple things I do. (1) Take many of the points for 1st and 2nd and spread them out for the rest of those who make the cut. (2) Give points to the top 3 positions that are non-degradable and last for exactly 2 years: 25 points for 1st, 15 points for 2nd and 5 points for 3rd and double them for Majors.

I know the Rankings want to factor in current playing form but IMO they put to high weight on it in the current system. I'll use Lexi as an example, she had a great month but with only 41 events for her divisor, this great month allowed to climb to #2 in the world when many others have just as good of season as Lexi if you compare the whole season. If this is a strategy, it's not a bad one, the low divisor allows maximum impact on a good result and if you're a top tier player it should keep you in the Top 10.

I don't even know who the top or top 5 players are right now in a specific order. So many people seem to have a great 3-4 weeks but they are all getting "only" one win and then a second, T2, etc. Like Lexi, I felt Minjee's rise to #2 early this year was too abrupt (or not worthy).

Seems like the best season so far is:

First - Jin Young Ko

Second - Lucky6 or Brooke

Forth - Lexi or Minjee

Can't think of anyone else with a win and multiple top finishes?

Eun Hee has a win and three additional Top 5 finishes. Nelly and Nasa both have a win and two top 5 finishes.

Unfortunately, my ranking is kind of like reporting yesterday's weather.

I only would have had Brooke and Minjee in this forecasted group to start the year...

It's understandable, you won't know much about Jin Young and Lucky 6 unless you followed them closely from KLPGA.

Lexi's lost until her flavor of the month claw putting grip.

I figured Lucky6 would be a good LPGA player but I wasn't sure how her 1st season on the LPGA would play out. After about 5 events and saw that her scoring average was under 70 I thought she was gonna be a winner 2019. Averaging the scoring average in the 69 range for the season over the last 20 years is the best indicator for being a winner on tour and usually reflects multiple wins in a season. Over the last 20 years U can count on 1 hand the amont of players whose scoring average was under 70 and didn't get a win that season. All 5 players with a sub 70 scoring average have a win and Brooke and Jin Young have 2, so there's a very strong possibility that SIX, Nelly anbd Minjee get themselves another win at some point this season.
