Ping Sigma 2 Adjustable Problems

Anyone experiencing problems with the adjustable shaft length feature? My Sigma 2 Valor became loose under the grip. Currently at Ping getting a non-adjustable shaft, but I’ve picked up others and they all rattle. I also was able to pull the grip right off one with no real effort (sleeve and grip came off the shaft). Has Ping got a real problem with these? Love the putter though and can’t wait to get it back.

I actually have this same issue - when adjusted the grip has 1/4" play up and down. Bet I could pull the grip off if I wanted. Just emailed Ping for a fix.

I had a Tyne 4. Absolutely love that putter but it felt like the grip and shaft moved apart even on short putts. Returned putter without issue and may order one with non-adjustable shaft this off season.

Liking mine even more with the non-adjustable grip. That’s the only real solution.

I got a Sigma 2 Tyne 4 last July. I adjusted it to 32” when I first got it. Then moved it to 33.25” and gamed it since. Recently threw a Tour SNSR grip on it. Shortened to 32” for my son to practice with. Tried adjusting it back to 33.25 and it lengthened about 1/4” and stopped. Wrench just kept turning. Removed the grip and the screw is totally stripped. Also near the bottom of the plastic sleeve it had an inch long crack down it.

i called ping and it’s still covered under warranty so they sent me a prepaid shipping label and said they would swap out the cost at no charge.

I love the adjustable shaft for my fittings, but when the fitting is done I always order the product with a fixed shaft. For this reason and for the "play" in it when hitting longer putts.

To fix the moving sleeve and rattle issue, align the grip so it is straight (aligning the seem of the back of the grip in line with the measurement marks works well), next pull with some force like your trying to pull the grip off with super small twists while your pulling, put your foot on top of the putter and pull if you have to.  The assembly should go back on whatever was holding it, tighten up and be as good as new.  I just had this grip twisting happen to mine.  It is like the sleeve came off of something inside the handle after a year of use, the whole assembly would turn about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch making it so I had to try and align the putter head every time I took it out of the bag, very frustrating after spending $200 dollars.  I noticed it had a rattle for a couple months as well before it had the major issue with the grip assembly twisting.  It seems to be fine now after pulling on the grip.  It must have wedged itself back onto whatever was holding it solid, no more twisting or rattle, perfect again, actually better than when it was new.  Mine must have been a little screwed up when I bought it but I just thought that is how it was because it was adjustable.  The movement when it was new was very livable and not noticeable unless you really tried to twist it hard.  I have played around for a year with different lengths and have it dialed in perfect.  It is a great idea and has really helped my game, I love my putter.

A little off topic, but, does anyone know if I can change the face insert on my Sigma 2 to something a little more firm?
