Which is more forgiving?

R5 Dual or Ignite or other?

I am pretty new to the game and I am getting a new driver for Christmas. I have looked a little at the TM R5 Dual and the Nike Ignite and I was wondering which was the most forgiving? That is what i really need in a driver. Or if you have any other opinions on forgiving drivers that may be a year or so old so that I can get them cheap I'd love to hear those as well. I am open to just about anything. Thanks in advance for the help.

I agree the R5 is more forgiving. The Ignite was easier to shape the shot though. It is more of a player's club, I think. It's nice to see someone using the MP 001 driver, too, kk. I'm looking forward to trying the new Mizzy driver. It's supposed to be freaking awesome!

nothing wrong with with mizuno drivers. I chose mine over an r7 based on performance alone. I also hear the new mizuno is nasty and i hope to try it out soon

I've played (demo'ed the Ignite 460 for an hour also) these this season:

 

R7 TP 10.5

R580XD TP 10.5

R540XD TP 10.5

Cleveland Comp (in the bag)

R5 TP 10.5

Titleist 905T 10.5

 

For me, the most forgiving is the Cleve Comp.

Close 2nd - the R5 TP

 

Both awesome drivers - take up bridge or chess if You can't hit one of these :help: :tongue: ;)

ive hit both 1 or 2 times and i thought the r5 was more forgiving but my r7 tp can not be beat

TaylorMade R5 is super forgiving. Huge head and in my experience drives went noticeable strighter. Not the longest club I've ever tried but deadly straight. Perfect if you tend to be a little wayward.

I think the R5 is worlds more forgiving and playable than the Ignite. I don' tknow why, but I've never liked the Ignite's feel.

 

Another driver you might consider is the BRIDGESTONE J33R. I love the 420cc version, and I hear the 460cc version is GREAT! I'd like to try it someday.
