Yes. Except you’re leaving out that Webb would then be hitting hybrid into par 4s where day hits 7 iron . If you’re suggesting that Webb or anybody is more accurate with a long iron in hand as opposed to a mid to short iron, then there is no hope for explaining this to you.

I played with a TaylorMade r510 until last year (not the TP version that gets everyone here at half-mast btw, lol). 330cc. Low single-digit handicap.

Totally agree with the above sentiment. If everyone I played with was forced to play with similar drivers, I would only stand to gain a larger advantage than I currently have off of tee. As an aside, I've gained less than 10 yards off the tee by going from a r510 (330cc, released in 2002) all the way to a Cobra F9 (460cc, current release) this year. Really more of a ball issue IMO.

This didn’t happen in pre 1996 and it still won’t happen in 2021 if they when back to pre 1996 specs..which they absolutely can easily. Webb and Kuch are not 3 clubs shorter than Day on average so please quit being ridiculous.

I don’t think you played in 1996 so I don’t expect you to remember how it played before pro v1.

3 clubs is a lot. On the tour they are at most a club to two clubs apart from the longest hitter to the very shortest. No one is hitting a pitching wedges when others are hitting 7 irons, that is just crazy talk. With a driver you can get back distance gaps, once you get into irons, those gaps close very quickly as you move south through the bag.

For me more spin means straighter drivers. It is hard to hit a ball straight with 2000rpm of back spin when you have 180+ ball speeds. More spin means I can swing even harder, and manufactures will just design drivers that spin less. Simple fix. Long hitters now already spin the ball more than short hitters.
