What's the deal with golf Channel's programing?

They need a dinners drive in and dives of golf.

Visit local munis, hit up small golf equipment companies that are trying to break through. Play golf with some local heros, course pros, has beens, or betters, Driving range pros, Mini tour guys. Just hit up courses that are not your norm country club venue. munis, 9 hole courses, par 3s... etc etc. Give some of these smaller courses some pres.

Only problem with that is anybody with a decent camera and an internet connection could do the same thing with YouTube. I believe they are starting to try to get into the YouTube game with Alexandra and some show, but I can see that gaining interest and then them filling too much of that space with ads for things that we don't care about before killing it off like almost everything else in the history of GC.

Now, for my own gripes.... I get that there are costs involved in showing old stuff, but when you are basically not showing any golf anymore, the whole point of the channel becomes moot. I'm sure there are ways to get more small segments with the KF, McKenzie, or Latino America guys where you can show off some of what they are going through. Would be very interesting to see what more of those guys are going though when trying to break out onto the next level, whatever it may be, and I'm sure you can probably make it happen for a pretty low budget. What do I know though, I'm just a consumer who no longer turns on the channel outside of the occasional slow weekday afternoon when I can watch live golf happening.

No, it’s just Tuesday evening, which is what we’re complaining about, mostly. Wednesday evenings they usually re-run the previous year’s final round of whatever tournament is happening that week. Thursday through Sunday they re-run the day’s tournament coverage. Monday is Feherty. Tuesday evening is when you tune in to see Tin Cup/Bobby Jones/Seve/that other movie they always show.

You know what golf movie I’ve never seen? Follow the Sun. Maybe it’s awful, but they talked about it in the Hogan special enough to make me curious.

They do have a show like that, just not very many episodes.

Why does everything have to be a quest.?? I think most writers played too much D&D as kids.

Sure, they have that, but that's only the KF. There are hundreds of other guys on the other tours out there that you can show off more than just the top few guys on the KF. They have the time to show it, given how frequently they are showing the same rerun of countless other shows, or at least it seems that way to me.

Golf Channel will be airing Tommy’s Honour next week. That will be a good addition to its movie lineup.

Feherty is good, but shouldn't even be compared to Golf Talk Live...both good at different objectives. I do miss PK!!

Why were folks glued to the screen last night? Bueller?

Oops, quoted instead of edited, oh well, two reminders of why they show Tiger shouldn't be necessary, lol.
