Maybe in the snow up here in Canada.

Seems like a golf ball fad, all the manufacturers are obviously trying to take advantage now. But who actually buys these kind of balls.

Has anyone read "Scratch" by Troon McAllister(AKA Lee Gruenfeld) Good story about the "Scratch" golf ball(fictional of course).

Hmmm, I would consider playing the pink one in the fall when all the leaves are on the ground. Sometimes it's so frustrating searching for your ball amongst all the debris on the ground. I hate it when I know a ball is in a small area, but I can't find it.

yeah its definately frustrating.. you know you hit a decent shot and then get up to where you think the ball might be and all of a sudden its buried under leaves. Dont know about the pink ball though! I have used the orange mojo balls !

I love how all the major companies are copying what Volvik did last year with the Crystal ball.  Precept has one out, Maxfli soon as well as Pinnacle.  Im sure Topflite has one in the works as well.

At least Precept's into is a true Lady ball with a few offerings. I'd consider the Clear white ball, especially if it performs like the original MC Lady. I also understand from our pro that the ball has the same dimple pattern as the B330.

Performance for the gals?

I was playing a round during the summer at the club we used to belong to...still have playing priveleges since my grandparents are members there. anyways..... i found a volvik crystal and showed to my buddy i was playing with, i decided id tee it up on the next hole........ surprisingly it doesnt feel or perform too badly at all..they are actually a pretty solid ball......but by no means will it knock of the ProV....LOL......but for whar they are they are solid balls.

(I birdied the hole)

LOL

  • 1 year later...

I know that I am waaaaaaaaaay late on this one (mainly because I did not want to buy a pink golf ball) but as a sort of gag I bought a dozen (to outdrive my uncle with a pink ball, he always smashes me on the score, but hey, I gotta have something right?) and to say the least I am quite impressed. These are STUPID LONG! :beruo: And soft (I know that's the marketing, but it's true). I hit the Ignite and the Fire as well as the ice today and the Ice was insanely longer. Like 250 with a 4 iron long! I can't hit anything else past 215-220 with a 4 iron. And off the driver, forget it, these things just fly :shout: They don't balloon at all, they just keep going. The colors are somewhat hard to follow in the air, but there is nothing like blasting a green one and losing it in the sky, teeing up a Fire and smashing that one out there for a good drive, only to find that the green one is like 20 yards farther in the middle of the fairway!

PS- couldn't bring myself to hit the pink ones, they went in the wife's bag. But good greif, if I keep launching them like this, I will not have nearly the same phobia about the pink one. If it's good enough for Tin Cup, how bad can it be? :friends:
