14 way bags with 14 full length dividers....

My last stand bag was my first 14 way bag, a Titleist Player's 14. Before that, I had always just used 5 way bags and was OK with it. Since switching to midsize grips about 5 years ago, grip tangle had started to become a really annoying issue with my older bags. Hence the decision to try a 14 way.

 

The Titleist 14 way was a nice bag, but had ALOT of shortcomings (terrible strap system, no cart strap pass through, odd pocket layout) and it really never fixed the club tangle issue. It was on borrowed time with me. Well, 2 weeks ago the zipper on the main bottom pocket (for balls and rangefinder) died and that was the last straw. So I began my quest and research for a new 14 way bag.

 

In doing my research, I kept looking for the ads/literature on the stand bags to mention 14 full length dividers. None of them stated this exactly if you pay attention to how it's worded. Its always "14 way full padded TOP, with full length dividers". This does not explicitly say it has 14 full length dividers, but implies it. You won't know unless you buy it first or can find one in a store and shine a light down into it... I find this to be misleading and frankly it pisses me off! I'll go ahead and let you guys in on what I found... NONE of the brands on the market make one with 14 full length dividers except Sun Mountain.

 

I didn't think this was such a rare thing, but it is. I went into my local big box store to check out the Taylormade 14 way bag I was getting ready to buy (great looking bag), but when I checked it for full length dividers, it had two. HARD PASS! I noticed a really patriotic Sun Mountain and looked into it (needed the flashlight on my phone) and BINGO! It was the Sun Mountain 4.5LS 14-WAY BAG. It had 14 fabric dividers that looked like they went almost to the bottom of the bag (maybe stopped 4"-6" short of the bottom).

If you look at the website description, it explicitly states that it has 14 full length dividers, so kudos to Sun Mountain.

 

Anyway, I bought it and we will see how it performs. Just thought I'd help inform you guys who are interested.

 

BTW, if anyone knows of any other stand bags that have 14 full length dividers, feel free to post up and link them into this thread.

I have this bag and it’s awesome. 14 FULL length dividers and is great for the range and the cart

I recently got that same Ogio as above - 'tis excellent.

The red colour is nice, if the olive version was there i'd have snapped that up straight away...


 

 

They also do a more Cart focused version that is very similar, but the range to cart version as above works really well.

Callaway fusion 14 has "14-Way Top with Individual Full-Length Dividers" although 2018 version has had them rip and now little streamers come half way out when I pull clubs. The carry strap is a little disappointing in 2018 and 2019. The 2017 version looked better.
