Is it harder to play golf with glasses?

I have probably been one of the people who struggle wearing glasses on the golf course. I was at Topgolf, an indoor/outdoor range, and didn't have any problems with distortion hitting the ball with my progressive glasses on. Don't know what the issue is when I go out on the course, but it didn't exist hitting off the golf mat, it seemed to be just fine with glasses on? I am going to make an appointment with the ophthalmologist soon and see what his suggestions are as well as an optometrist and compare their points of view. If I could get the same results that I got hitting off the golf mat out on the course I think I could manage using the glasses, but for some reason the lay of the land gets distorted when outside.

Whether prescriptions affect YOU, depends on your eyes and quality of prescription lenses.   What you describe above is not what I deal with, and I have been wearing prescription glasses for 25+yrs and play to a 3-4.  Thankfully, I am still able to track a golf ball in-flight and have no problem with putting, reading green undulations or grain.

Since we're reviving an old thread, I have progressive bi-focal lenses and have no issues with depth perception, green reading or any golf related problems.   I also have prescription sunglasses that are progressive bi-focal and they work perfectly but are the light brown color.  Again, no issues with either.   I don't get to wear the sunglasses much because I live in Michigan, the land of perpetual cloudiness!

I cannot adjust to any type of bifocals.  So, I get two pairs of glasses - one for distance and one for reading.

I moved to Varifocals about 3 years ago and have no real issues. Only problem with glasses is wet and / or humid conditions when they are a serious nuisance.
