Converting double bend to plumbers neck - any brands that this will work for? Who has done this?

Looking for examples of mallet heads that will take an adapter to convert into a plumbers or flow neck. Seems like Odyssey and Scotty both use a "post" type connector to the shaft, while others use taper shafts or have them at an angle.

Bumping this up as I'm still trying to figure out what type of head will take one of these adapters. Got my eye on a Ping Iwi Craz-E but not sure if it will end up being more trouble than its worth!

I think ping is a 370 and it may fit. For $18 it’s worth a try!

Going to try this out with the 2.5” Golfworks converter and a Mizuno M Craft VI. Double bend just doesn’t sit right to me.

I just turned a Ping PLD DS 72 into a Knuckle Neck with the eBay kit. Really easy to do just need a .355 shaft and then grind the knuckle insert down a bit to fit

Came out pretty good! Got it done at my local Golf Mart with a KBS CT White shaft I had lying around so colors are mismatched. Kinda looks cool! Sets up and rolls wayyy better for me than the double bend. Nice little converter!

That looks so crispy. What did the 2.5” plumbers neck do the to the toe hang? I’m exploring doing a similar conversion - double bend to plumbers neck - to a Sub70 TAIII wide blade. Ideally I want slight toe hang, and trying to determine what length plumbers neck to try.

Love it! I’ve been messing around with a handful of different wide blades after gaming a NP2 for my entire life. Absolutely loving the clean sight line look on this Sub70 wide blade, but struggling with the visual of the double bend shaft.

 

Where did you buy the neck you are going to pop on the Catalina? I have seen the knuckle adapter on ebay and the full hosel on golfworks (that looks more like a slant neck though). Was originally thinking the knuckle/cut shaft was the way to go, but really liking the pic of the Mizuno in CP4L’s post above if I can get the right level of toe hang on it.

Went with the 2.5” golfworks hosel. I probably added it to my cart 50 times since last spring and finally decided it was time to pull the trigger.

Finally got get finished up, a little sloppier on the epoxy than I normally am due to some bad lighting but she turned out nice. Toe hang at a 45* angle and rolls the ball nicely!

I would have trimmed the insert of that neck to sit flush with the putter head. The concept is there much cheaper option then to send it off

You’re spot on there. I was so pumped to do it that the thought of that didn’t even occur to me until the next day. Will likely pull it to trim and reinstall when I get the time.

Looks solid! Once the neck insert is trimmed it should be unreal. I think I’m going to go for it on my wide blade.

A couple! I’ve been tempted to get another and do it again but with a torched Hovland finish.

A sik flo will work perfectly without having to bend the spud. I’ve done it.

What is the total length of the post section you used on this build? I’m looking at doing the same thing and that toe hang looks just about right for me!

That one has to have neck cut off and a new one welded as it’s a single bend neck
