This club is the succesor to the old V-Steel, and for some odd reason Taylor Made has chosen only to release this club in Europe and Asia :help:

 

You can't remove the weights, they are fixed, but the clubhead looks really nice to me - and it's very cheap:

Let me try to place the new Vsteel in the intended 'player target':

 

For the normal weekend hack - like myself - the Vsteel has been a too low launching fw. Too deep faced and hard to hit from the fairway.

 

The R7 has the same head proportions as the Vsteel and same playing characteristics - low launch, low spin. Needs high clubheadspeed to perform and fly.

 

So TM left out a massive part of the golfing public previously covered with the 200 steel models.

 

Enter the Vsteel II :

Shallower face (significant, I've compared in hand), higher spin weighting and overall smaller compartment in cc's. A more playable wood for the normal golfer, the pro / scratch segment left out.

 

But why the US market has been left out here - I don't know :help:

 

I'm definately leaving the R7/Vsteel design and looking into the new Vsteel and the 200tour smoothtop :tongue:

Finish is different from the ones in the UK. They have a grey head, similar colour to the Rescue Dual. That one in the picture looks better. Prefer the black finish like the old one. :)
