over the years his dad and i have played alot and was wondering how davids game is from a neutral source cause i have played with him but mostly with him and his dad.

the best part of being at school at IMG is the fact that you are so close to "the track"
AKA...Sarasota Kennel Club....i love going to watch the pups race and to play poker in their card room, it is just scrumptious!!!!

We use to let IMG at our course......Sarabay.


I played alot of golf with the Leon's and Moore. It was sorta neat watching all those great jr golfers play in my back yard.

Sarabay is very nice. I played in the donald ross memorial this year for high school golf.

IMG is a very unique place. Great facilities and the teaching instructors are very informative and helpful. The only two things that I do not care for about IMG is that there are not enough instructors for the amount of golf students that they have. It is not anywhere near as one on one as other places which can be a good or bad thing. Also, if this swing method was the best, everyone would use it. They do not work with individual talent which a player already has, they just teach the leadbetter swing. Like I said this is a great place but it is not for everyone, it just depends what you are looking for. Just my 2 cents.

I totally agree with what Adam said. They will not work with what you've already got in terms of natural swing talent. They want you to swing exactly like every other junior who goes there. Not to say the Leabetter swing isn't very good, look at Els and Faldo when he was on top of the world, but the swing doesn't work for everyone. I went there and I think it may have set me back, because I just couldn't feel the mechanics. I Leadbetter swing is extremely mechanical and if you play with even the slightest bit of feel in your swing, it will be tough to adapt. Now having said that, the facilities and instruction are top notch.

When an athlete goes to IMG he/she goes there for one sport. That is the point of the place- to instruct in a particular sport in order to get a college scholarship and sometimes eventually go pro (or straight out of Leadbetter's tutelage a la Wie and Tryon). Now one can dabble in other sports in free time once at Leadbetter, but if one goes there for golf, one will only play golf as his/her specialty.

Enough said. I knew this already and for this reason I'd never send my kid there. We were actually looking at options and a friend of my daughter goes to IMG.

We will not be going there. Canned golf.

You kidding? The golfers are great. Primarily because you don't send a child there to learn golf. They are already a stick. The school is $45k annually.

It's just not somewhere I would send my kid based on the theory of assembly line golf instruction.

i went there for a month a few years ago, when i was there i played with one of the best golfers i have ever played with, his name was top puntawong or something. Someone said he played on the asian tour but i dont know if its true.

yeah thats the right name.... I went to school with Top. He was so good at such a young age. He got his am status back but didn't do much and i think he is trying pro again. He did play the asian tour i believe.
