Mizuno irons - made in Japan or China

I’d love it if Golf channel did a deep dive as to where clubs are actually manufactured not “assembled”.  Give the consumer a better understanding.  All seems very hush hush out there.

Because it's China!

They could, I guess, but it's already printed on either the club label itself, or the box, when new in the store.

I actually realized yesterday that Callaway does print the country of manufacture on the box, while it just says "assembled in Mexico" on the label. But on the box of Mavrik irons I just got, for example, says the heads are made in Vietnam. Sometimes Callaway is a little cryptic, with a 2-letter country code under "origin" but they do also spell it out on some boxes I've seen.

Happy hunting!

My understanding...

MP heads are forged in Japan, then sent to China for "finishing", which means flash removal, hosel boring, and chrome plating.

JPX heads, made in China, complete.

Ping Glide wedges w/Recoil 110
Ping Redwood Anser - the "real deal!"

Yes, I believe this to be true, at least as of a few years ago around when the MP20 line was being released. I believe the foundry was forging the heads and then the finish/plate work was done in China.

I'm not thrilled by the notion but at least the forging is still done in Hiroshima.

Used to be that they sent out some work out to China etc

but it appears the current line up are all made in Japan for the MP line and parts of JPX are sent out to China

Mostly true, I believe. I think the JPC forged has whatever forged parts done at Hiroshima but the rest of the JPX forged head/JPX lineup is fully manufactured outside Japan.

Ah, global economics... when "civilized" nations can just export their environmentally toxic manufacturing and claim the moral victory with the eco-terrorist/environmental nuts who are simultaneously destroying the industrial might that once made their own countries manufacturing powerhouses.

On the plus side, all those titanic old factory buildings are now re-purposed into urban chic breweries and hip dining and service industry spots. What could go wrong?!?! (see: 2020-present) 😄

Which Mizuno irons models are still forged in Japan? I see multiple references on online forums that Mizuno irons are now made in China now, not forged by the Chuo plant in Hiroshima. I’m wondering is this certain models, all models or just a incorrect rumor.

I just picked up a new set of Mizuno JPX923 HOT METAL irons. Here is the deal, they are made in frigging China and assembled in the USA. So disappointed. I like the irons so far, but probably would have chosen a iron that was made in USA

What irons are 100% made in the USA nowadays? And can they be purchased at a reasonable price?

My MP20 HMB 3-PW set had the Mizuno sticker that said, "Head made in Japan. Shaft made in Japan. Assembled in USA." for what it's worth.

I believed most/all forged Mizuno irons are made in Japan, while the cast/multi-compound heads are China.

This has always been am interesting topic for me to dive into, as I prefer to get a Japanese company's product that are actually made in Japan. As with cars, musical instruments, etc, with golf clubs, that's not as common these days. Especially with federal regulations in place that seeminglt discourage domestic manufacturing in lieu of saving the planet... But I digress.

When I was shopping around, Srixon assured me their irons were forged in Japan, yet the label on the box clearly stated the heads are made in Thailand.

If you're buying new, the manufacturer's label is hard to argue with.

Go figure! Fun topic. Glad I found it using the search bar.

The Endo factory in Thailand is top quality and all processes in house.

Nothing to fear !
