Joe Kwok has secret wedges!

I witnessed him making magic with the vokey's
First off let me start with saying Thank You Mr. Joe Kwok for sharing your expertise on wedges with me.
I was torn between watching you work or rummaging through your vast collection of clubs, the TP proto, The raw Vokey proto and the Mizuno 100 year heads, are you sure you dont want to sell them?

Before someone screams "this post is worthless without pics" I am bound by Mr. Joe Kwok to keep his new wedge grinds a secret. :drinks:
But i will say this, You will never know how good a Vokey can be untill you have them "massaged" by Joe.

I like to use a lot of imagination with my short game but the stock grinds always limited the shots i could hit consistantly, Joe's new "secret" grinds allowed me to hit high spinners off the front toe and one-hop-stoppers off the back toe with no digging and no club head twist no matter if the lie was fluffy or tight.
The 60 with the killed edge and the PM grind was absolutely flawless it made me look like a tour pro today.
The 58 with a killed edge a moderate M-grind and a flattened bounce, or the 54 bent to 53 with a blunt edge with a massaged heel and trailing edge are going to be perfect for the winter.
NO, my secret wedges are not for sale!

I would like to apologise to all of the GolfWRXers, I was so busy going through all of Joes goodies that I forgot to take pictures of his secret work shop. I will get some on the next visit.

PS. Joe doesnt have "secret" wedges but the man can transform a wedge from a shovel to a birdie maker.
I would highly recommend Joe's work to anyone, he is patient and thorough and for anyone who truely loves the game nothing is better than having a club that is able to hit the EXACT shot you picture in your minds eye on a consistant basis.

Food for thought: Why spend so much money having your driver and/or irons fitted absolutely perfectly for you and then ignore your birdie making wedges?

Thanks again GolfWrx your website has been a tremendous source of information.

Joe does good work???? Nah..not the guy who gives me hell all the time on the phone! :drinks:

It's not surprising to read this kind of story about Joe. He's a master of many things. i know he's done much magic for me through the years. Along the way he's cracked me up with all his stories as well. I'm truly jealous you got to stop by his shop. I know the next time I'm in Cali I'll have to stop by. Even if it means just having a cup of coffee...which is what he suggested the last time I was up there within a five hour drive of him. ;)

I have wedges done by Joe K......

They are the best that I have ever had, and that includes my tour issue vokeys that I got at the one PGA tour event I qualified for.

He is the real deal and knows what is going on. I appreciate his talent, and have seen it first hand so I can respect it as well.

I was a PGA professional for 15 years and he is one of the best I have ever seen. Period.
Wow. Hey Joe, how much for a retail 54* and 60* vokey SM oil can sprinkled with your magic and sent to Dallas? Just asking... thanks!
Depends on what type of grind you need! Email and phone call is the best thing to figure it out.

THX!

I have to agree 200%..

Joe worked on my Vokeys and they are awesome..

All my friends that have tried it say they are magic..

I actually dont know what grind he put for mine..

I had the pleasure of playing a round with Joe this summer in Vancouver and I told him to do whatever he thinks is good..

Looking forward to seeing Joe in a few weeks time..

I don't believe in rechroming it.

1. None of them can garranty will not loose some more weight.
2. None in the US have a good durable quality chrome anymore.
3. What is the point rechroming if they are not gonna effect the performance of it.
4. Pick the one that has no plating on it, so you don't need to deal with rechrome.
5. etc, etc, etc.
I understand Joe does custom grinds on wedges

does he rechrome them when he is done?
Forget about the grind....

I once heard through the grapevine that a wise man brought his wedges to Joe only to have him touch them once or twice. He has since played those wedges and become famous.

I heard that man's name was Phil Mickelson.

Joe, can you make me chipping better? I'll send you my TP wedges soon.

Oh and can you make me driving the ball better? Can you m-grind my Superquad too?
SHHHH! Guys, lets talk about wedges, grinds and play some golf!....enough about me here! :partytime2:

Thanks anyway of course!

Please, no secret here ok! :partytime2:
If that's how you really feel, then why do you have 20 different logins where you are constantly praising your own work. :russian_roulette:

Unfortunately, right now, for many of us, playing golf is not an option, so we get/have to plan for next year's play. For those of us smart enough to drop Joe a line, we get the benefit of figuring out how we want our clubs to perform under different sit-ations. However, come spring/summer, many of us start blaming Joe when the clubs don't work according to plan. :ok:

On a serious note, Joe spent 40 minutes the other day talking about my wedge game and how I play certain shots. It is in that type of conversation he comes up with the best solutions for your game.

We discussed things like divot type, play the ball before the pin or spin back, trajectory into the green, can I hit a high cut flop from a tight lie.....and so on.

Outside of grinding there are lie and loft considerations to be made along with how much spin certain wedges put a on ball.

In all of this he never tries to sell me anything, just educates me on the choices he feels best fit the way I play.

It's a great experience and really is the best thing you can do for your game in the off-season is get it ready for next season.

Now if I can just get my irrational weight gain under control....boy am I getting fat, the Spring season should be outstanding.
