Titleist Vokey SM8 Concern

Hi all,

Just had a new vokey sm8 arrive today from an online retailer. Slightly concerned that the bar code and assembly labels look different to the 2 other sm8s I have. Also, the shaft band is turned in the other direction and the serial number appears smaller. Aside from this, everything is identical.

Any help would be much appreciated!

"online retailer" can mean a wide variety of good and bad places. Where was it purchased?

 

If its reputable, it may have been a bad day for someone at Titleist and it missed QC.

It’s from someone who regularly sells Titleist on another forum and has had good reviews from others. The milling is identical to the others but the labels different. I wasn’t sure if it was made for a sponsored player as he sells some Titleist/ FJ shirts with the same sponsor on and in the same size.

In the top pic, the wedge on the left, the banding above the ferrule where the stamped diagonal lines are look closer together than the two wedges on the right. You have to zoom in to see it and it’s still very close. Could be the way the lighting hits it but looks closer together (possibly wider diagonal lines causing this) than the other two. Of course this isn’t something I’d notice had you not drawn attention to it possibly being a fake
