My Superquad TP Cracked!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anybody else have this happen :(
Hey Guys,

Went out today to play a round with Mike ( wookiedog ) Brought out my BRAND NEW Superquad TP. We teed it up on hole number 9 and heard a Weird sound come from the Driver. Looked down and there was a 2 inch crack going across the crown. Anybody else had this happen, or heard of it happening? I'll get pics up in a minute.

On TM's defense though...I called their customer service about 30 minutes ago when I got home. THEY apologized right away, got the Serial Number, verified it was authentic, then asked me if I wanted the same loft and Shaft, or if I would like to make any changes. Since mine was a 10.5 and my trajectory was too high, I asked if I could go to like an 8. They are sending me out a 8.5 Superquad TP tomorrow and I will have it Wendsday. Now that is customer service. No questions asked about anything.

And...No...I did not hit balls with the to of the club. All balls were right in the sweet spot as you will see in the pics :russian_roulette:

Just great customer service though :partytime2:

He said it didn't matter that the shaft was aftermarket as it was installed at a professional installer who deals with Taylor Made.

So what about the shaft that is in it now? Obviously they aren't shipping one with that shaft to you. Will you have to swap shafts and then send them the damaged one back?

I borrowed Mikes Driver. LOL Callaway X18 with a 48 inch shaft. LOL I do have a 3 wood and 3 Hybrid I carry though

I had a problem with a 580XD back in the day. It was an aftermarket shaft. At first, they didn't want to touch it. I explained to them that the very magazines they advertised in had articles in them to "get your launch conditions optimized," etc. I sincerely asked, "What's a consumer to do? On one hand, the magazines that they buy ad space in are telling me to get optimized. On the other, doing so voids the warranty?"
They saw my point and offered to replace it. I still had to pay to get the shaft swapped, but overall, I was satisfied. I've had a couple other calls in to them, (nothing like heads breaking) and they have always been good to deal with. For all the abuse they get for their product lifecycles, they do stand behind their product and offer good service at least.

P.S. Chris. You animal! Don't swing so hard! :russian_roulette:

My personal theory, putting aside my feelings about TM's quality (that is another thread discussed long ago) is that it might have been the fact that he was hitting bombs with it and it was God's way of trying to level the playing field.

Of course, Chris then started out-hitting me with my own dang club by a good 30 yards (on the one hole I hit a decent drive and by more than that on the rest of the holes where I was struggling) so that plan may not have worked out to well.

And yea, I am already shopping for a new driver to replace that. The 48 inch experiment died today at the age of 3.5 weeks due to complications while operating it (mainly a lack of consistency). Fun for a while, but it is going into the garage for a while.

Cool pic, TM did the right thing and replaced it. I exploded an Integra a few summers ago, they replaced it no questions asked as well.

my buddy cracked a the shaft on a R7 TP speeder 757. he just swinged like normal hit a good drive and he laughed and said that the shaft broke. It completly brake up under the grip, so wierd.... ge was to lazy to call TM though since he already orderd a new driver....

this crack is crazy do. some guy were prob drunk when he made the head :russian_roulette:
