Yonex EZONE GT 435 so far the honeymoon has been real good

Got my shipment of new Yonex Ezone 435's and have played a few rounds with the 9 deg. hotmelted the head up to 207g (total with adapter) and playing it at 44.75" gripped. Currently been using an older MCA DIAMANA W Series 60X. Really happy so far with this new compact driver offering. Impressed with everything feel, sound, ball flight and of course distance is up to par with everything out in the market. Honestly as good as and maybe better than a TS4. Love the more compact design which put less torque and twist on the shaft and swings a whole lot easier than a widebody 460 does.

I think the biggest complaint is probably going to be the cosmetic design to the face a little wacky. I assure you, you won't be thinking about it much after you see how this driver is performing after a few drives down the fairway. Any more insight feel free to reach out.

I thought their Tri-G driver was excellent. Never heard it talked about. How does this one compare.

Yes TRI-G was a good little head played the 10deg. In that one because it seemed they erred on the strong side with that line.

With this head I dont know if it's more carbon content or a different material used in the face construction. But driver is maybe a little more muted, ball doesn't feel like it stays on the face as long, jumps off with pretty low spin. I havent out it on a monitor yet. But I know the previous version of EZONE GT 455 2018 had a little more ball speed than tri-g.

If you liked the Tri-G you'd be really happy with this 435 as well

Played a Yonex back in the 90s. Also had the Yonex forged CB irons from that time. I still have my Yonex PM wedge set in the collection.

Tri-G was very workable and felt nice. Was not extremely forgiving but the smaller head felt more manageable. (I have one Tri-G iron, a 5 iron with the EX310 stiff graphite, and it might be the easiest 5 iron I have ever hit, and that shaft rocks.)

On drivers, I don’t mind some bigger heads if they are not unwieldy. To me profiles like Callaway Rogue are too stretched out, while the same 460cc looks better in a Bridgestone J715, as just one example. So I want big that doesn’t look big and fast and forgiving. Is that asking too much? ?

Yeah I'm with you I can't stand a widebody with a shallower face. I find more consistency with compact and deeper faced drivers as well.

Hate to necro a 3-year-old thread, but looking into the Yonex GT2 435cc as a 3 wood/driver replacement. Would love to hear your thoughts now that you've spent some time with the club. TIA.
