Cheaper way for Sun Mountain Speed Carts?

Wife and I have the older version that have inflatable tubes. They are a pain in the butt to inflate. Sun Mountain sells a conversion kit to replace the wheels and tires for $80, but are sold out.

 

Anybody figured out a cheaper way? A solid 12.5 inch tire that will fit? Or?

I have no trouble inflating the tires. Bought an inflatable air pump at Costco and have no trouble. Plug the pump into my charger for my car and takes less than a minute to pump the tires up.

these are $35 a pair, not much cheaper than Sun Mountain upgrade, but may be some cheaper options.

I used to have the one with air filled tires. I used that fix a flat stuff that fills the tire with foam or gel, or whatever it uses. This kind of made them solid, and I never had an issue with them after that. I wish I could remember the exact product I used, but, I guess, all those things work the same.

I wonder if using something like great stuff would work.  Wouldn't want to use it on a car/truck tire, but maybe a low load push cart would be fine.

Hmmm, should have looked first:  A can of is a cheap as you can get! Several videos on youtube.

just wondering , as I have an older Clicgear with the same type of inflatables that I keep as a spare cart.

my main unit is newer with standard plastic wheels.

 

does it make sense to upgrade the CG wheels now as they are in stock and not wait for the existing tubes to fail or just wait and use it until.....

I have an original speed cart from 2002 with the air tires, rolled/rolls great when the tires are full, back then I would top off the air at the course in the cart shack where they had air pumps. I pulled it out yesterday and filled it up with an air compressor I have now, that I didn't have then and only takes a minute per tire.

 

I was looking at the wheel kit at Sun Mountain, but I would need the fork kit also, and to reach $100 for free shipping. 

 

Anyone with one of these older ones, skip the wheel kit and either continue to top off the air or use something like the "Great Stuff Foam" to avoid any top offs?

 

Do the new wheels roll as easily as the older tires?
