Counter balance effect is what you are feeling.

Is it just me or does steelfiber in general feels heavier than what the spec says.

If that's true, does it effect SW in any ways?

First of all - weight feel comes from both the shaft weight and the swing weight.    So if the particular club you tested or are using feels heavier than others, than you probably need to check the swing weight.

Second - if it's not the swing weight then the best guess is that that's it could be the stiffness you're feeling.   The i-series steelfibers are stiffer than pretty much all other shaft of that weight that's currently available.    But what many don't realize is that the distinction between weight and stiffness can actually get pretty fuzzy at times for some people.   The loading of the shaft actually delays how we feel the head weight during the swing and some can perceive that delay as the club being lighter.

The i95 is really not very counterbalanced - it doesn't really have that high a balance point, not like the i110's.   And second, high balance points ("counterbalanced") makes the swing weight and club feel lighter - not heavier.

I recently swapped out my PX 5.5’s for Steelfiber i95 stiff. The swing weights came out within 1 point. I ended up building them 1/4” longer than standard at D3 by adding 2gr tip weights throughout.

While I do notice the 20 gram difference in total weight (they feel lighter as expected), I find the stiffness very similar to the PX’s I pulled. I’m excited to see how I get along with them on the course.

Did you have any timing issues due to the 20 gram decrease??

You know, I thought I might not like the weight difference before trying them. But after 2 range sessions, I’m completely comfortable with the difference and don’t find I have any timing issues.

I may add a little bit of lead tape to the heads to increase the swing weight, but I wouldn’t hesitate to try these shafts as they have the stiffness and stability that I get from steel.

I went from KBS Tour 130 x to Steelfiber i110 stiff 7 years ago and it was the best decision I have ever made. The Black Label sure looks good...
