FT3 or Cleveland Comp 460

Which new driver ??

Hello fellow golfwrx members,

As it's nearly Xmas and we're in the closed winter season, I'm looking to change my driver. I've narrowed my choice down to an FT3 or a Clevland Comp 460.

Being Left handed the latest gear is not always available and the prices of the two drivers listed are dropping nicely at present.

I'm heading for a luanch monitor in the next week or so prior to Xmas but would like some advice regarding which to go for any any clue regarding shaft preference as it's unlikely I'll leave the standard shaft in.

Previous logged swing speed was approx 110 - 115 mph but can easily reach 120mph when I start going for it.... handicap currently 8.

Any advice would be much appreciated in the continuing search for the magic driver..... :)

Both are good but I like the FT-3 more as I said in an earlier PM. Getting on the lauch monitor will be good as it will get you a clear look at which is performing best in your hands.

Don't worry! It is a very easy decision go for the ft-3. Easy to hit, and long! I have on the way with a speeder 757 stiff. sweeeeet!

Well, since you've said that you have narrowed down to those two, not sure how much my input will help. But, I tested both the FT and the Comp on the monitor and in actual range time and I ended up with neither. For me neither one was particularly great. Both gave me a lot of spin and crazy launch angles. I ended up going with the J33 R 460. Funny enough, I got the best results on the monitor and on the range with this club. Admittedly, the J33 was a last minute afterthought, but glad I gave it a try. I ended up with a 9.5 460 w/ a diamana xstiff. Since the J33 is below your price point, do yourself a favor and give it a try if you haven't already. I think you will like it as our SS's and handicap are in the same ranges.

Both are great drivers, i doubt you will be disappointed with either choice.

 

Of course the shaft will make the big difference, but both are can't miss clubs.
