SIM2

I'm seeing a lot of SIM2 drivers on the BST.  Are they underperforming that much or is the original SIM that much better? I want to move out of my 2017 M1 440 but the prices of newer equipment make that undesirable. Curious to see what those in the know think about this!

HAHAHAH - I currently game a 2017 M1 440cc @ 9.5* (with a KKXD 70s) and absolutely love it - its a low spin monster and still performs with the current offerings.

I recently purchased a sim2 9* w/ HZRDUS Black RDX 70s.  I've only had it on the sims a couple sessions so not enough garner a valid review.

One thing to note - the Stock Sim2 comes in @ 45.75" and a swing weight of D5.  I current driver is 45" @ D3.5 so i'm getting used to the weight and added length.

Also the head size compared to the 440cc is something I gotta learn how to look past.

As of right now im just in a testing relationship with the Sim2 - hopefully after a couple more sessions i can give you honest opinion.

Love to hear from others too 🙂

I play my M1 an inch shorter than standard and absolutely cannot see myself trying to swing an almost 46 inch driver!  This long shaft fad reminds me of the killer bee drivers in the 90's! Like I said I would like to give the SIM a go the cost of even just the head is still a little pricey for me.

The M1 440 was the best of the M1, M3, M5 series by 100 Miles.

That club will always be relevant.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to what flies around the BST when gauging if a product is good or not. i.e. you see plenty of ventus shafts in BST but I don't think anyone would argue that it's a bad shaft, maybe just not for everyone.

I only have one sim session with the Sim2 but there is a good chance it's going in the bag. No experience with the 440 but gamed the regular M1 for a bit, didn't love it.  Also bagged the M5 and most recently a TS4. At first indication, the Sim2 is better across the board numbers wise from my TS4 and the TS4 was better than the M5 and so on.  The caveat here is that now I'm playing a ventus as opposed to a tensei so that could also factor in.

I have no doubt that shafts play a huge role in the performance and likeability of a club.  I'm not insinuating the SIM2 is bad I just feel like its a case of trying to make something better but creating something equal as its predecessor with a different look.  I mean how much better can you make drivers in todays game?  Everything is maxed out and there isn't much more to be done IMO.

I have played the M2, M6, Sim max, and Sim2 max. The Sim max performs the same as the Sim2 max imo. I have been fitted in the Sim2 and have also tried the same shaft that is in my Sim max. Numbers are about the same. Maybe a little more forgiveness with the Sim2 max but otherwise the same driver with a different look based on what Trackman says.

I definitely agree, there are minimal improvements to be made from the standpoint of optimization on perfect strikes. I do think that they have made headway from

model to model from the standpoint of consistency across the face. I’m a pretty consistent driver of the ball but occasionally get one toe side, and do think that the newer tech improves that miss.

In the coming days I’ll get the adapter switched on the tensei to give it a true comparison.

People always buy all the new drivers thinking it will make them drive it like Rory . When they hit the same as they did with last driver , they put on BST. Clockwork. Very incremental changes.

i just sold my 2017 M1 and am regretting it, was such a great driver. i picked up the sim2 because i know a guy and get a great discount, it is fantastic, noticeably better sound but if i had to pay retail i would still have the M1.
