Buying advice - z585 or T300 for beginner/starting again lady golfer

Hi all, just need a few opinions/thoughts on the matter.

Background - My wife would like to play golf again (last played about 5 years ago, and played regularly about 20 years ago). I would classify her as a beginner golfer trying to get her swing back. She is fairly tall (6' with a 36'' inseam), and fairly strong but swings very easy. I took her to an indoor range (Trackman) and tried out a bunch of shafts on a SIM 2 Max 7 head (they only carried TM products). The ladies shafts were too short for her and too light but she swung best with a Recoil 760 F3 and an R300 shaft. With both shafts, SS with the 7 iron was about 70 mph, and when she did make good contact, ended up with a carry of about 130-140 yds, with rollout on the sim upto 150 yds. She said she liked the Recoils better, but she was more consistent with the R300 shaft and admitted as much. She didn't care so much for the lighter  senior flex as she felt the head felt too all over the place. Disclaimer - I was helping her, as they didn't have anyone qualified to do a fitting who could look at her swing as well. We were just going off the numbers (SS, Ball speed, path, spin, carry, total)

I have the option to buy a set of  new T300's with the AMT Red shafts ($700 5-P), or a set of used z585's with regular Modus3 Tour 105's ($100 cheaper and 4-P). There is no option to try before you buy here on these as they will be sent to me, so I'm taking a chance. She will get better with reps, and she does play tennis as well, so I'm confident a set of regular flex will suit her just fine if it's not too heavy. I'm thinking the Modus' may be too heavy for her?

She is left handed, so choices here in Norway are soooo limited and price wise, this is about what the going rate is, and with the current golf boom, hard to haggle on the used market esp. with lefty clubs.

So, asking for a quick opinion on these two choices with regards to heads, and/or should I go for a set of graphite shafted irons (then I have more options as I would have to special order them). Am not looking for SGI shovels  - she says if the club looks too big she doesn't like the look and it puts her off and if she keeps playing, she will get better, and if she decided in a year or so this isn't for her, I can get a decent resale on them.

TIA.

T300's will be more forgiving and easier to launch.  Based off of the numbers you provided, it seems like the AMT's would be a better fit, but as always see if she can hit one of the irons of each set.  As far as graphite, the only benefit would really be more shock absorption.  GL.

Have had both clubs, still playing the T300s.  Both are great clubs, but I am more consistent with the t300s.

Thanks for the replies - she wants to go with the T300s, but is keen on a graphite shaft, so we'll see if there are others that might suit her (possibly the Recoil 95 F3 or similar in weight). I might try to see if I can get her into a set of Radspeeds as my shop is working on a deal for me.

Just an update for those that are interested.

She went with the T300s with the AMT Red shafts, 5-P. The rest of the set is as follows (all regular shafts). Everything but the T300s were bought used.

TM MiniDriver

Cobra F7 2/3 Hybrid

T300 5-P

Cleveland CBX at 52

Cleveland Smart Sole at 56

Ping Tess Sigma G (she used a Odyssey 9 before, and likes the shape)

I’m happy with it and the price I paid for it all. Pity I’m not a lefty, as I could easily game these myself. I’m trying the quality clubs for beginner approach so that she stays interested.

Thanks for the replies - Now have to wait for the snow to stop falling so the courses can open here.
