Can't decide between two driver shafts

So I got fitted for the Callaway Mavrik driver. I love it. The shaft I was fitted for that had the best numbers was the LA Golf Blue Tour AXS, 60 G X-stiff. When I bought the driver it came with the Evenflow Riptide 50 G stiff shaft.

 

I hit the driver for a few rounds with the riptide shaft while waiting on the LA golf shaft to get in. When it finally came in I made the switch. However, now after paying both shafts, I like the feel of the Evenflow better. But the LA Golf shaft has better numbers and distance, although I think a little harder to hit perfect every time. Think better in the hitting bay, but not quite the same in reality when playing the course. I spent a lot of money on that shaft and feel that I should play it since its nicer than the stock shaft offering. I keep switching between the two depending on how I am hitting my drives that day which can't be good for consistency.

 

What would you go with?

I'd play a few rounds with the LAG and then make a determination. If you're still getting better results from the ER, then switch and sell. But I'd have to game the LAG for a while to fully examine the results.

Ya I guess ill give it a few more rounds. I really want to love that shaft, especially because it was expensive. But I cant shake that I like swinging the Riptide better. I wonder if it has to do with it being lighter, thus feeling lighter in my hands.

Maybe... might be a balance issue as well...

 

it seems like you can hit the LA shaft better, you just don’t love the feel...

So I played with the LA shaft again yesterday after multiple rounds with the Riptide. I was hitting the LA shaft very well. Great ball flight and distance. But the feel sucks. It feels heavy and laggy. But since the outcome is what I want I am going to keep hitting it and hope I just get used to the feel then.

Obviously feel is important, but if the numbers are significantly better, I’d try to get used to it!

Im always a fan of getting the stiffest shaft you can handle and then don't look back....time will get it dialed to your swing. Always go with large data set of numbers and on course feels.  You will love how smooth looking back at your playing partners feels more than the feel of the shaft 🙂
