Who’s got a G425 with Custom Weights

Just snagged a G425 and have seen all the talk of the heavier head and from the reviews that float around online (I know they’re not a good gauge) The G425 is always down on Ball speed but always because slower swing speeds In these reviews it seems

 

I’ll be playing the G425 LST in a Ventus Red X tipped 1” and playing at 44.25.    Right now the shaft with the ST-Z is at D3 and the head adapter at 205G and I seen the head alone for the ping is 208!  I’ve heard their adapters are very light but I expect it to be at least 7-10G heavier than the ST-Z adapter 

 

So with all these offerings for the clubs these days as far as custom weights from so many aftermarkets,  My question then becomes is they obviously design these clubs around their weights will taking this weight out in this form take from any of the stability or is it even measurable.  

 

Has anyone played with the G425 with some custom weights in there yet and seen some results?   Really liking the idea of a 5G weight in the toe and heel.

Yes.

Have LST with Tensei at 45,5" which was delivered at D5 (15g weight, Arccos grip). Head + 15g weight was 207g. Changed to 11g to get to D3 which is easier for me to control the face at impact. 

As I have a set of weights I currently have 7g on toe and 5g on heel. Swing feel is as with 11g, impact is just a  bit "clickier" and flight just a tad fade biased (for me which I prefer).

I also have an AD-DI extended to 46,25" and some CB lead tape, which I've tested with 5&7g weight, so far not likely to make but need to test it indoors with a trackman.

Currently testing adapter settings, initially flat and flat + was better, but have now changed to std small +. With std (more upright) seems that I find the center a little better.

Awesome!  Yeah I have a set of weights on the way as well.  Don’t think any of the weight loss has made any measurable change in accuracy?

Interesting!!  I have the MAX and it arrived at a D7 swingweight by mistake (built with midsize grip but was supposed to be standard grip).  It ended up with a 29 gram weight in the back.  I changed this to a 23 gram from golfworks.  I never thought about splitting the weights to the toe and the heel on the back!!  Very cool and I may have to get a set of weights to experiment.  Where did you get the weight kit from?

I got mine off a vendor from eBay.

I had a 12g and 6g on my G410 LST and really liked it, likely going to order some weights for my G425 LST, leaning towards 13g and 5g.

I like the light weight set up with heavier swing weight   
 

With playing driver at 44.25 I can play the Dri tac Lite grip and hopefully knock some weight off the head and have a nice set up

I use a non-counterbalanced shaft in my G425.  I purchased a 17 gm. weight to use with this shaft.  It feels very well balanced with this shaft and weight set up.  I notice no difference in playability from the standard setup.  I do set use the original Alta CB on occasion, just as a change up.  When I use the original shaft I put the 27 gm. weight back in.

The LST head came in at 202 G on my scale (No adapter yet) seems like that’s a bit lighter than what I’ve seen online unless they’re adding the weight of the adapter as well and if that’s the case the ST-Z isn’t very light in its own respect lol
